Dropped Fox tv

I'm very upset that not only did Verizon FiOS drop the Fox tv network but that there was never any warning for this other than from 2015 and that issue was settled and Verizon kept the network. We were warned of 2 other networks that were to be dropped by December 31st 2016 but not one of them was the Fox tv network

Have you also complained to your local fox station as well?

They are as much a part of it as Verizon is.

I find it DEPLORABLE that Verizon and the supplier of the FOX programming in Syracuse, NY have not agreed to contract terms for 2017.   For those FOX SPORTS fans we are the loosers.   Seems both Verizon and the supplier think by sending us to the other party to complain it will resolve their negotiation dysfunctionality.   As customers of Verizon, I pay YOU to provide me with service.   When one of the four major networks are not available to me I must then consider changing my service provider.   Bad for me, Bad for Verizon.   No one wins.   This just sucks!   PS, I've got to leave my home to watch the SUPERBOWL.    You've got to be kidding me.

Reports elsewhere say they are in the final stages of reaching agreement.  Obviously those of you in the Syracuse area will find out for sure soon.

When will the FOX programming resume? This is very disappointing and frustrating.  I tolerated it the last time it happened but this is a longer time period.  It needs to be resolved and quickly, especially for the remaining NFL programming.

With the Super Bowl only 2 weeks away, when will Verizon come to a resolution with Fox and get the channel back on line? It is VERY disappointing to pay what we pay for cable channels and not be able to watch the programs we are paying for.  Because we couldn't get Fox for the football game last night we downloaded Fox Go and after 10 minutes streaming the game on our Apple TV, we were no longer able to access Fox Go....the alert kept coming up saying our provider(Verizon) would not allow access. Please resolve this situation or reimburse our account for the channels we no longer can access.

There is no dispute with Fox.  Many Verizon area still have there Local fox channels and all have the FOX cable channels.

However several local FOX channels are in dispute over price increases and not Just with Verizon.

I am not happy with Fios - where is the FOX network????  if this does not get fixed soon i will be switching to Time Warner.  2 weeks in a row no football and these are the games i wanted to watch.

Also Accuweather is the worse, no local weather - why bother.  switch to the Weather Cannel.

Are you also upset with fox as well?

They have asked for a price increase.

As we don't know how much it could be that they have asked for.

Its possible they have asked for a large sum that would cause Verizon to raise rates.

And then people would be upset with them.

We as consumers always get squeezed in these cases.

Search for same issue in Bing or that other place.  You may find one that works for you.

Remember the dispute is not with Fox.  All the Fox owned stations were on Verizon in the areas that they exist.  It is with your local station.  And yes some of these local stations want fairly high increases, and use special events that were coming up, in this case the superbowl, to try and demand these higher rates.

This is just a quick note of frustration to Verizon FIOS in the Syracuse, New York area for ruining the ending of the NFL Season for all of us by pulling FOX Sports programming on January 1st. This was done just in time for the play-offs, so thank you very much FIOS. No wonder there are so many happy Time-Warner Cable folks in my neighborhood. I'll be one soon too.

I sure hope that this is resolved before the Super bowl, or you may lose customers to Dish, Time Warner, etc...

Bristlecom and Verizon can not agree on terms for use. I suggest change local 8 to NYC Fox station. This will give NYC news plus sports coverage. Activities in NYC do effect us in many ways.

Unfortunately, FCC determines which stations are primary in an area.

So Verizon can't just pick another station.

This is becoming ridiculous. I understand Verizon is refusing to pay Bristlecone for their rate hike and that this is a dispute between them. I appreciated that Verizon is doing this in an attempt to keep prices low. However, as paying Verizon customers, we're expecting a service to be provided and right now those expectations aren't being met. Verizon should be providing a temporary solution until this is resolved. While some argue that this is only "local Fox broadcasting", this is also the programming bringing us the NFL playoffs at the biggest time of the year. The only reason I continue to pay for cable is for sports.

I had to go out and buy an HD antenna to watch the NFL games because of this, and right now I'm pretty happy with the OTA broadcasting. It's getting me one step closer to cutting the cable.

You have no expectations for Fox to provide their part of the bargain?

Typically it is the content provider that pulls the service not the provider.

Not sure who did what in this case, but both sides are at fault.

Yet people tend to only blame the service provider not the content provider.
