ESPN App

I changed my channel package two days ago; both old channel package and new channel package include ESPN (all the channels 570-575).
Tonight, two days after changing my package, I tried to access ESPN via the ESPN app on Apple TV. App wouldn't access content...asked me to activate the app on espn.com/activate. I go there, enter the activation code, then it asks me to log into Fios...I do (credentials are correct...double/triple checked).
Time and time again, I get:
ESPN subscription required.
To watch ESPN, you must subscribe to a Fios TV package that includes ESPN, such as Preferred HD and above.
So, I try to do it on iPhone...I get exact same message after it asks me to log on.
So, contact Verizon Fios customer support using the verizon.com chat function. I get escalated twice. Verizon claims I have ESPN and that my account looks right and that it must be and ESPN problem. So, I go over there...go through 30 minutes of troubleshooting...same result. Verizon tells ESPN that I don't have ESPN when I try to activate that way.
ESPN says, sorry, it's a Verizon issue.
Verizon says they don't support streaming and it's an ESPN issue (I've been a Verizon customer for almost 9 years--used ESPN app on Apple TV using Verizon credentials this entire time and never an issue--9 years good to go). Then I reduce channel package, but keep ESPN, and now it's hard broken.
Please someone, help! And convince Verizon it's their issue...they don't believe me.

Give the billing department a call this time and tell them you need to get the account re-authorized for the problem.

I’m having the same issue as of this morning. I tried watching Sportscenter on the ESPN app on my Firestick and it displayed, “This channel is not part of your package”. I tried logging out and back in with my Verizon credentials and also got the message saying I need Preferred or higher. I have Ultimate HD, which absolutely has ESPN. Seems like a Verizon issue, for sure.

From what I can gather there was a migration to a new server for authentication. You may need to contact billing and have them re-authorize your account.

Just spent 2 plus hours with Verizon doing the same thing. And of course ESPN says its a verizon issue not that app.
pretty much we will continue to pay for something that neither provides. This happen last year the same way and magically it went away like a month later and we could log in again.
of course no one will give you money back

Please read my reply above. Just call billing and get your account re-authorized.
