Extended Recording not working

I have scheduled recordings and requested them to be extended and they are not. Just last night I recorded the Celtics/Mavericks game with an extension of 1 hour, confirmed that it was set correctly to extend the recording but in watching it, the recording ended right at the scheduled time.
