I have the latest and greatest DVR which offers added record time by adding an external eSATA hard drive up to 1 TB(terra byte).
Yes I have IMG9 verified on the machine.
I have a Seagate 500mb USB hard drive hooked up w/ an eSATA to mini USB converter cable and the DVR does not recognize my Seagate.
Is is possible the eSata I/O port on the DVR is not hooked up internally?
Can't get it to work at all.
Anybody?

Bet you it is the converter cable. The whole external hard drive is tempremental. Try enable more storage but use a esata drive with not type of usb\esata converter and see if it works. Esata external----Esata cable----DVR

Just hooked up a Seagate 500MB (SATA) to my 7216 and it works great. Used a
VANTEC NexStar 3 Hard Drive Enclosure- 3.5” SATA to USB2, eSATA . Also tried a
ULTRA – 3.5” SATA to USB2, eSATA enclosure. Worked OK but had some fan noise (needs a new fan). Try TigerDirect for any of the above items.
