FIOS Mobile Access While Waiting For Installation

Verizon says "Great news! Now that you've placed your order, you can start watching FiOS® TV content today with the FiOS® Mobile App—there's no need to wait until your service is installed!"

FIOS Mobile App says it can't do anything unless I have an STB.  Of course I don't get an STB until installation, thus negating the need to use FIOS Mobile App because I have the real TV.  The app also says that "Your install has been pending for over 14 days.  Once your installation completes, you resume uising the application Error Code:HBA_21"

So which is it, you have to wait until service is installed or you don't have to wait until service is installed and the notification I received has some narrow applicability which does not include my situation?

Hi DaveDelaware,

We apologize for the confusion. Actually, yes you can watch TV using the FiOS Mobile app before your install takes place but you have to go to activatemyfios.verizon.net to activate the service first. Once you have done this, you should be fine.
