FiOS TV programs -- only cable channels -- drop out all day long

For the past coupla months FiOS TV programs have dropped out -- both audio and video -- for a second or two then come back for 20-40 minutes before the problem recurs.  It starts as soon as I turn the TV (2019 Sony Bravia) on, happens all day.

It afflicts only cable TV programs, not the streaming channels such as Netflix, Amazon -- and I've no problems with other FiOS services such as internet and phone.
I finally got the time to call Verizon about it and was sent a new box today. The new box was worse: I couldn't get a steady signal at all!  Got a Verizon tech on the phone, for over an hour he was tweaking the box from his end, to no avail.  (We'd done all the obvious things like reboot the box, checked the connections, etc.)
I'll obviously have to throw more time to Verizon tomorrow, ship the 'new' box back, etc.  Has anyone else suffered this?  Thanks in advance for any insight.

What box are you having issues with? A VMS 4100, IPC 4100, 1100 series? Wired, wireless? Need more details to help.
