Fios HDMI No signal on My Samsung Class 7 Series with Samsung Soundbar

I recently moved in with my partner and upgraded our TV setup with a new Samsung Q Series 3.1ch soundbar and a Samsung - 70” Class 7 Series LED 4K UHD Smart Tizen TV that I purchased in 2021.
My partners previous setup did not have a sound bar and was using a fairly old Samsung 50 inch. I mention this because I've been wondering whether the Fios equipment may be outdated? The Apartment we live in is fairly new (2021) so I cant imagine the equipment is that old.
I used the ARC/ HDMI1 port for the sound bar so I moved the existing (and working) HDMI cable for FIOS over one slot to HDMI 2. Unfortunately when going to the other port (I tried several HDMI wires) it says no signal. The picture would flash on for a few seconds and then disappear shortly after. When I disconnect the sound bar and plug the Fios hdmi back into hdmi 1/arc it works. I also tried other things like an xbox and Firestick in HDMI 2 and it works just fine. AND, i also went to the verizon store and exchanged my FIOS box for a new one. Same one.
What is interesting and confusing is it ONLY works when i use a mini HDMI extender. I randomly tried that and it started working. That is the only way i can get cable TV and HDMI 2 to work with the soundbar.. However, it still cuts out, lags or pauses pretty frequently showing a spinning wheel. So, I'd really like to fix it and not have to use an HDMI extender.
Does anyone know what may be wrong? I believe its one of these things:
1) The Verizon equipment may be too old for the TV
2) My TV or Fios picture setting is wrong.
3) I saw a similar post where someone recommended plugging the cable box into the soundbar?
Thank you for any help

Yes, you could try plugging the Fios cable into the soundbar. Also you should check the input menu on the Samsung and make sure wide color or whatever Samsung calls it is enabled for the HDMI 2 input. Samsung applies different standards to different inputs out of the box. Power down both the TV and the Fios box. Unhook the HDMI cable, Power both box and TV back up, then hook the HDMI cable back up and see if it helps
