Fios Remote skips channels often

My remote which i recently purchased jumps a channel all the time.  It is annoying.

Does anyone else experience this?  It happens often.  It was new and i had to pay for this. Why does it skip channels? Do all the new ones do this??  It is not a good experience and very frustrating.  Verizon needs to test these before charging us for new ones. That is not fair.

The supplied remotes for my 4100 VMS and minis work well. No channel skipping. The remote may be defective, but, try pulling the batteries for a minute or two. Also try replacing the batteries. If none of those help, the remote may need to be replaced.

I just did a full reply to this and then this site asked me to log in and i lost it. haha

So ,  thanks for the suggestion. I took out the new batteries in the new remote and back in.  I will test this for a few days. So far no jumping but that is a small sample. Both the remote and batteries are new. i just bought this remote from Verizon recently so it isnt about age. it was actually the replacement on an old remote because i am a loyal customer.

Sometimes the power button in upper left of remote doesnt work. i turn to the tv remote then and that always works. Maybe that is to do with my older DVR set top box?  who knows.  if this battery re-arrange doesnt work, i would like a new remote that works. I already paid for this current one.

If the battery "exercise" doesn't resolve the issue, reach out to Tech Support to see about another replacement.
