Fios mini not working with the Samsung tv alarm

I had an old Fios box which when my alarm on my Samsung tv came on in the morning's, my tv was playing whatever channel I was last watching when I went to sleep.  Now I upgraded to the Fios One and mini and when the alarm comes on the tv goes to channel cable 3 and I get static on the screen and not the channel that is on the set top box.  I have spent hours on the phone with Samsung and Verizon trying to resolve the problem.  Does anyone have an answer?

How is the Fios box connected to the TV? Should be HDMI if your TV has the capability. Sounds like the TV alarm is defaulting to the TV input instead of the HDMI input. Look in your TV's menu for the default turn-on input and change it to HDMI from Cable.
