@fiostv on Twitter has said that they are actively negotiating for carriage of FSC HD. I guess agreeing on things like price, promotion, on demand content, etc is what's taking so long. Hopefully Verizon is able to actively get new channels groomed into the lineup while they negotiate. That way, they can turn it on as soon as a carriage agreement is in place.

So, it looks like FIOS is adding  FS+ (replacing Setana ) as a PPV station, @ $14.95/month, BUT no mention of FSC HD being added.    It figures that they want us futbol-fanatics to pay the  extra for more SD soccer.   I know I won't.....................

Speaking of more SD soccer, what happened to ESPN2's hi def coverage of La Liga on Sunday afternoons?  It seems that since the new year, they have not aired their Spanish games on ESPN or ESPN2.  Rather, they are only airing Premier League games on Sat morning.  Everything else has been moved the ESPN-Deportes or ESPN360, neither of which are available in HD.

We definitely need more HD soccer, which means we need FSC-HD.  One game per week will not cut it. (Well, occassionally some of us get two b/c Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic somehow was airing FSC's hi def coverage of Champions League games the last two Tuesdays.  They were airing LIVE the game FSC was showing tape delayed.  But this does not help everyone.  I know CSN-Philly was not airing UCL games, and who knows how much longer FSC will lease the rights to UCL games to CSN?)

We need FSC-HD.  Before the season ends in May, preferably.

FSC HD is actually here now.  However, it's not actually in HD.  It's just a rebroadcast of FSC SD.  Why is this?

I've just gotten off the phone with Verizon, and my channel package does have FSC HD (infact I just upgraded to Ultimate as well).

FSC HD and GOL TV HD are both here, but neither one is in HD.

What channel #s do you have for these statons?   I have Channel 84 for FSC and 313 for GOL TV.  These are NOT HD stations.    Bob

FSC on 1522 is not the HD channel.  It has been in that slot for a long time now.  FSC HD will likely be channel 584, to mirror the SD version on channel 84.

Channel 1522 is not HD, it is just a mirror of channel 84 and is part of the Spanish "La Conexion" package. Even though the channel broadcasts in English (not all channels in the package are Spanish language) they group most of the channels in the package together in the 1500's-1800's channel range so there are many duplicate channels (for instance the main CNN channel is 100 but in the Spanish package it is 1541). No one but Dish Network is currently carrying FSC HD which is why people on these forums and forums of other carriers are pestering their providers to get it ASAP as it has been live since February. You just see the HD logo on some of the FSC programming because they are now broadcasting in HD, but it comes through as SD. And GOL TV does not broadcast in HD at all. And no offense to all customer service folks, but most either have no clue or just yes you to death. As of last week one had no idea the Fox Soccer Plus channel was taking over channel 1009 (formerly the Setanta channel) effective March 1 when the switch over occurred. As much as I love the FiOS service I have found that I get many different responses to the same question from different reps.

Argentina and Italy v. Camaroon games on FSC in lousy SD! Come on FIOS get with the program and add FSC HD! Bob

Germany-Argentina and Italy-Cameroon were not on FSC they were on GOL TV. But I will add another shout for FSC HD though.

Well, Time Warner Cable just announced today they will be carrying Fox Soccer Channel HD starting April 5 (that is the kick-off date in the NYC area) .Time Warner is usually one of the last providers to get things going. Where is Verizon in all this?

The following news release is from Fox Soccer:

"Fox Soccer Channel, Fox Sports Net (FSN) and Fox Soccer Plus will feature blanket coverage of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg, with eight live and exclusive English-language match telecasts in high-definition from March 9 through 17."

Will FIOS step up and add FSC HD in time for these matches????

For soccer and “football” fans in the U.S. and abroad, it’s about time. The world’s most beautiful game rarely looks like it in old-fashioned standard definition. Faces are blurry and the grass looks dull green.
Only problem is, Dish Network is the sole cable or satellite operator in the U.S. to start showing Fox’s soccer programs in HD. Negotiations are still ongoing with carriers such as DirecTV, Time Warner Cable and VERIZON FIOS. The hope is that they will add Fox’s high-def soccer channels to their lineups very soon."     

 

"Soon" is NOW!   Add FSC HD.

any updateds....my family just signed up for fios ultimate hd....and now FSCHD + MSG HD + MSG Plus HD is a huge blow ...especially this week w/ champions league
