Verizon will be dropping the final gol tv channel which is gol tv espanol channel 1523 from their lineup a month from now where gol tv will be a thing of the past for fios tv customers. It will continue the trend of tv providers ridding themselves of gol tv once those providers add bein sport to their lineup. Verizon is trying to negotiate adding several sports channels to their guide where some of those channels are pac 12 network, sec network, one world sports, the english premier league and then there will be the dodgers network where the cost of these channels will be passed on to all fios tv customers through either a tv package increase, a regional sports fee increase or a set top box increase or a combination of all of them some time next year. Then there is the matter of the nfl ticket which verizon has their eyes on since the current holder of those rights has until the end of this year to renew those exclusive rights or risk losing them as the nfl will then start to negotiate with tv providers starting next year for the rights to 2015 and beyond. The price of fios tv is going to go up once these sports channels are added and this does not include any new sports channels that are being developed right now. As people may have noticed by now college sports teams, professional sports teams and international sports teams are creating their own networks so that they can make some more profit for themselves where the cost of those sports channels will be passed off to the customers of any tv provider that adds those channels. Verizon is going to be adding a couple of more hd channels that will be available by october 3. Those two channels are tv japan hd and willow cricket hd where you would actually have to pay extra to have them. Willow cricket hd which is a 24/7 channel that is all about cricket will appear on the fios guide on channel 1007. For those who are interested verizon is set to add 4 new hd channels in new jersey on september 18 and those channels are espn deportes hd (channel 1537), univision deportes hd (channel 1539), universal sports hd (channel 596) and sony movie channel hd (channel 735).
As I understand it, they "only" remove GOL TV (1523) from the ultimate package. It will still remain in the spanish language package. Or do you have other information?
Is MSG+2 HD finally going to be added in the NY region? How about The Comcast Network HD for Philadelphia? Verizon has been stalling on these two channels for years now.
This is completely ridiculous, where is HLN, H2, Fox Sports 2, CBS Sports, Cooking, TVLAND, Reelz, TCM, Style/Esquire, OWN in HD?
I'm guessing you are a Verizon FIOS employee. Am I wrong? All your info is always correct. Any chance FOX sport Deportes will be added in Spanish ? Thanks
I am not a verizon employee. If you were to look at my history you would see i have been very critical of them which has been to the benefit of all customers which is why it stuns people that my info is accurate because of that criticism of verizon. The assumption i am getting the info from verizon is not true since i continue to criticize them By now people should have noticed that there continues to be a pattern on here of me saying things are going to happen and when they do people should not question its accuracy but sometimes people do. Very rarely do i get kudos (which is something people should at the very least give) for the info i provide on here which is about multi-billion dollar deals where everyone involved has signed a nda (non disclosure agreement). Japan tv hd has been added at channel 1769 and as i said before espn deportes hd, univision deportes hd, bein sport, the lakers network and a guide provider switch were on the way where all of those things have happened. If i were a employee they would have been able to prevent these releases of info ahead of time where what verizon recently did is send out a reminder to their employees that they should keep their lips sealed about this info. The only thing i said that was going to happen that has not happened yet is the pac 12 network where verizon was close to a deal last year to add it for people on the west coast only but then comcast struck a deal to have it added for all their customers and since then pac 12 will not sign a deal with verizon unless it is for all verizon customers in the country which verizon is reluctant to do. I found out verizon is seriously considering dropping the .tv channels but nothing is set in stone yet. As far as gol tv espanol is concerned it will go away and as to your question about fox deportes espanol it already exists at channel 1521 where i am not aware of any plans to add it in hd. There are spanish sd channels on the way that will be added soon. In a interesting development verizon's old guide provider fyi television is listing verizon as a client again even though the data is now done by tribune media services. Fyi television is also listing time warner and canella as clients too but they are tribune media clients. Now i know it is against the law to lie about such things but if verizon, canella, time warner do not care then why should anyone care if fyi television is making a profit off those companies by lying about them being their clients?
You should get credit for all your information. Sorry I ment FOX Sport deportes in HD. You are always on point.
I'm glad to see such channels as beInSport & Willow be added, but could channels like these please be added (1) as part of the Extreme package, not simply for Ultimate or as stand-alones, and (2) with SD versions, too, as at least the above-mentioned pair seem to be there only in HD?
With costs rising and people complaining about the costs of sports channels, don't expect international sports to be placed on Extreme or lower. International soccer is mainstream enough to be in Ultimate, but cricket is going to cost $15 a month.
