OMG why is the HBO GO authentication system broken AGAIN... after months of successful use, when logging in, you get the error message "you need an HBO subscription" ... of course i have had a subscription for a long time...  this error happens every few months.. no one at verizon can help you... you just have to wait until someone at fios notices something is wrong and they fix it... so I am posting this to make some noise!!! PLEASE FIX

May, 2013 - I get the same error. It worked before and I have HBO on my account.

HBO Subscription Required.

It seems to be working again today 5/19.  I just entered the site via MyVerizon signin and was able to unlock shows.  You might give it a try.  There was a huge authentication signon issue this weekend.

I bunch of things can go wrong with the SignOn recognizing your Verizon subscription. Not sure about HULU but one of the problems with some of the similar services is they expect you to be sharing your cookies between sites, not have your cookies deleted when leaving sites. Note that newer flash honors the clear request and flushes the just retrieved authorization when it comes back from the SignIn to Verizon and returns to things like ESPN GO and HBO. This may be the same with Hulu.

After months of successfully using HBO Go & Showtime Anytime both have stopped working for us as of this afternoon. The error message says we need to add the channel & have Fios TV; both of which we have. The online Verizon customer service chat help was no help at all. The twitter chat person said it should work. (I KNOW! That is why I am complaining!!)

Our online Verizon account says we have a pending order (we don't) but no one can tell us what it is. 

Very frustrating.

I'm having the exact same problem on devices that weren't previously signed in. I made the mistake of logging out on HBO GO on my Kindle Fire and then couldn't get logged back in. Currently, I am still logged in on the Xbox 360 and it is still working. I'm guessing their authentication is down and it's a holiday weekend.

Same issue here with HBOGo.  Keeps telling me I need to sign up for FIOS.  I have FIOS, I have HBO, I have HBO Go, I used HBO Go on Wednesday, but starting Thursday 5/23 it all went to hell.  SIgn in has error and has indicated the password was wrong (it wasn't), I sucessfully changed and used the new password on Verizon online, but still won't sign in to HBO Go.  I think the correct answer to this problem is that Verizon and Verizon customer service SUCKS!  My best guess based on previous experience is that you can call and spend 4 hours on the phone getting the runaround and a bunch of people who have no idea what they're talking about, or you can wait for thousands of people to complain so they'll work on a fix, or you can just try not using HBOGo.  That sucks since HBO has several things on HBO Go that you can't get from HBO On Demand and of course that means you can't use your mobile devices, but that's Verizon for you.  HBO much easier to get hold of support, but they tell me it's a Verizon log in problem and you have to go through Verizon for a fix.

Been happening to me for about two weeks. Oh and ive had hbo for two weeks! Chatted with numerous specialists spent hours on the phone and all I've gotten was a ticket number and them saying theybwouldncall me back. Well, they haven't. This is crazy.

No matter where or with what Device I can never sign in to hbo go says I don't subscribe and believe me wish I didn't. Sooooooooooo sorry I left Comcast what a mistake crappiest service ci in the world even worse than dell

Happening here too. Have been using HBO Go for months with no problems, no issues with username, etc, all has been fine until today. What gives, Verizon? Not happy...

I've been using Verizon for as long as Fios has been available.  Things normally work pretty well overall.  HBO Go and Max Go won't let me log in.  I've been using these services for well over a year with never a problem.  Not being able to watch the season finale of Game of Thrones NOT COOL!

I'm having a similar issue.  I'm randomly being asked to reactivate my devices (iPad, iPhone, xBox360, Roku, AppleTV... we're heavily deviced around here).  Usually it's just a little glitchy and I can access after an attempt or two.  Today I'm being asked to activate my xBox360 (again) and I can't get past the sign-in process.  After much "thinking", I'm being told I need to subscribe to HBO... which I do.  And have.  The whole time I've been with Verizon.

I can still access on my iPad and AppleTV (for now), but can't activate the xBox360 either on the xBox or on any of my other devices.  It's incredibly irritating.

I'm 99.9% certain this must be a Verizon issue because verizon.net is slooooooooooow for me.  I wasn't even sure it was going to let me log on to this website.

EXACT same thing is happening for us today. Can't access it on XBox or computer, but works fine on AppleTV, iPad and iPhone. It's now no longer working on my iPhone.  Urgh.

eta: Or my iPad.

Has anyone figured out a solution for this?

I can't login to HBO Go on my Windows pc or on my Android tablet. It was working about an hour ago, now it tells me I need to subscribe, which I already do. I have tried both Firefox 22 and IE 10, and I have rebooted my pc.

I also cannot sign in to HBOGO on any of my devices. I have HBO and I'm a Verizon customer.
