HM DVR and High Def DVR - not communicating

I have a HM DVR in the family room and a high def DVR in the bedroom.  I recorded shows on the HM DVR and am unable to view on the HD DVR.  Is there a setting I was supposed to choose?  I was told that I can watch the shows recorded on the HM DVR on the HD DVR but not the other way around.  Please help!!!!

You can only view shows from a non-DVR HD box or an SD box from the multiroom DVR. Currently another DVR can't communicate with another DVR.

I believe that is expected to change with the upcoming 1.9 release, though.
