How do the technicians upgrade my router

I was offered a new router by Verizon. No charge. Tech came today and said he needs to see my outside connection. I was not told anything about having them do wiring. What does it involve? I sent him away. I don’t even know where the “box” is!

They need to see which version of ONT you have to see if there is a coax connection available and to see if the ONT needs to be upgraded to work with the new router. Nothing sinister going on there.

Well you missed your chance and should have let him do it,  I upgraded my router also last year and said I needed to upgrade my ont outside also he was done in about 15 minutes he made sure everything worked and went on his way.
