How to set a reminder

When I was with Comcast you could set up a reminder for a show you would like to watch.  And I don't see this feature with Verizon.  Am I just missing it, or is it not available.  If it is, can someone explain how I do this?

You can do this in the guide on any of the cable boxes, except the DVR's. Just press ok on a show in the guide, it should give you the option to set a reminder!

As an additional note, a reminder can also be set with the record button while in the guide on the show you want the reminder on.

Also, when the time comes for the show to start that has the reminder, the box will provide an option to change the channel, but will not do it automatically.

How far ahead can you set a reminder?  I can only find the option for two days ahead.
