There is intermittent major pixilation and rare picture lockup on my kitchen Sylvania panel TV. I'm using the very small motorola STB. This is not the usual Small STB. I mean the smaller one that Verizon doesn't show on their FIOS website. The STB is about 5 inches by 4 inches by one inch. It is model DCT700/US and is marked Phase 2.7 and Platform ID 176. At the time of install the guys checked the quality of the signal over the cable coming to that STB and TV. Everything, I assume checked out fine. I have, of course, checked all connections and reconnected everything.
What is intersting is that the intermittent major pixilation and rare picture lockup is only on very few channels on the low end. In other words local washington DC channels 7,8,9,10 up to about 20 are a problem Every other channel works just fine. When the pixilation and picture lockup problems occur, sound is effected also. Sometimes the pixilation becomes so bad that the picture just goes blank and will may or may not reappear.
Now I'm sure you'll want me to take the little set top box and move to another TV to see if the problem is with the box or with the TV. That's a major hassel. Even if I did do all the hassel of moving the box to another TV and trying it out I still wouldn't know if it was the box or the TV. The problem is intermittent. Every thing may work fine for a couple of days, and then the pixilation problem starts up and may only last for 15 mintues. Again, even when the problem starts up, I can jump to channel 230 and everything is fine. Then I can go back to the "low" channels and the problem will be there. Maybe for only 15 or 20 minutes. And then it won't be a problem for a few days.
Anyone else experienced this problem? OR better yet. Does anyone know if Verizon will just send me another STB in the mail and I'll return this one WITHOUT my haing to go through the "moving it to another TV for testing hassel"?

you are experiancing the same issues as everyone in the "having 1/2 second freeze issue on certain channels on all boxes" thread.
I would suggest posting this in that thread as well.
also verizon will send you a replacement motorola 700 box via UPS for free, the sucky part is you have to go out of your way to send it back. (drop it off at a UPS store) they replaced one of my motorola 700s, the issue was still prevalent on the replacement.
