I have had Verizon FIOS for over a year...while I do not subscribe to any "premium" channels such as Showtime, HBO, etc, I used to (and by used to I mean literally a couple days ago) be able to watch certain movie channels on my "On Demand" option for free. One in particular was Starz because I watched all of Spartacus for free and just recently got into the White Queen. I went to watch it tonight and it said that I am not subscribed to this channel. I have watched so many free movies on my On Demand....I couldn't watch them live through the channels, but if I went to On Demand they were available to me. Why would that have all of a sudden changed? Any thoughts? I recently changed my package from Extreme to Prime, but was told that nothing having to do with On Demand would change (I made sure to ask this because I didn't want to miss out).
Thanks for any help anyone can give me!

Starz On Demand is a part of the Starz package. Generally, in order to get any "On Demand" channel, you must subcribe to the corresponding package.

That's what I thought, too, but I had it before with Extreme and did NOT pay for STARZ or any other movie channel....so strange. I am going to call today to double check on everything. Thank you!!

Starz in some areas is included with Extreme. It is not included with Prime.

I think Verizon has implemented something recently that corrected the situation where non-subscribers were able to see subscription VOD. This is as it was always supposed to be, except for free previews.

I know that, with Select HD, I cannot view premium channel films, and (unfortunately, since my previous provider had many free offerings) only films from certain channels. (I wish Verizon would change that and let us have access to free films - we're already paying plenty for the package.) However, beginning in November, there are not just a handful but only one 'free movie' on each of the channels I have with Select HD. Please! We cannot be paying for everything we view, and the few films available (such as on Lifetime) were a bonus. What happened? Six films playing since August was hardly prodigal - but one?!
