On demand with Tivo

It's about time Verizon joined the 21st century and allowed people with Tivo to access on demand.

Its a technical issue.

The way Verizon does on demand is not support by a cable card.
Verizon would have to totally rengineer their network to support this change.

For linear channel content, try the app for the network in question.
Should be able to get anything they have on demand.

I rent one stb from Verizon which I use for on demand movies and have lifetime on a roamio and a few minis. It also comes in handy for feeding my HDMI switch when I want picture in picture since neither TiVo nor FIOS does PIP for reasons that escape me.

Comcast Xfinity in Florida has an old cable-based network and they support on-demand with TIVO.  Xfinity shows up as an app on TIVO. Verizon just doesn't give a **bleep**.

Weak answer.

FIOS was supposed to be the best.

Now you are saying it's not?

Tivo was around long before FIOS.

If comcast can do it, I am sure FIOS can, too.

It's about about greed and wanting people to pay rentals for equipment.

FiOS uses different technology for on demand that isn't supported by cable cards.

You have access to all of the apps that content providers use.

You can watch any shows that way.

I am fairly certain the cable boxes that Verizon rents out are in fact using a cablecard embedded inside. Take a look. Last time I had the box, I was able to confirm this is true.

That may be true for linear channels.

But on demand is accessed via the internet that is not based on cable cards.

That is why TiVo and other cable card based devices can not access on demand
