When I switched from Time Warner to Verizon FiOS earlier this year, I was assured by the salesman that a deal with the PAC 12 Network was imminent and would certainly be in place when football started. Not only has that not happened, there appear to be no negotiations taking place, and frankly, no interest by Verizon adding the PAC 12. In fact, it would seem Verizon has lost interest in FiOS since all expansion and advertising in my area (Southern California) has ceased. I think I was duped.

Don't assume that negotiations aren't happening. Verizon is VERY secretive about these things, and you never really know most of the time until a channel just shows up. It does make it frustrating a lot of times because we don't know if a specific channel is coming, but that's the way they do it. At least they aren't saying publicly like DirecTV that they simply aren't going to carry the channel.

I have the Extreme tier. I'd like to vote against the addition of yet ANOTHER expensive sports channel to this tier that will make our FiOS rates go up. NO MORE! If you sports fanatics want yet another wildly overpriced sports channel, then it should go into the Ultimate tier or that special sports package. NOT IN EXTREME, PLEASE. No more of my money for sweaty blockheads running into each other on a field!

Ike1 - you don't want a great conference network with world class olypmic sports in addition to football and basketball, I can understand that. But you have the extreme tier and you are complaining about a channel that costs 10 CENTS a month out of market and 80 CENTS a month in market? Averages out to way less than a 25 cents for Verizon's footprint. I would hardly call that an expensive channel.

$0.25 more than I want to pay for a channel(s) I will never watch. Same goes for the other regional college sports. They should all be offered as strictly pay channels for those who want to watch them.

...which is exactly what all of the sports fans say about OWN, E!, Hallmark, and countless other channels that we will never watch. Yet, we put up with it.
Sports is big business and Verizon is potentially passing up a competitive advantage by not picking up the Pac 12 network.

The race is on! First to get a deal done in my area with the Pac 12 Network gets my business. Who will win? Fios or Comcast? Another football season where I cannot watch Pac 12 games is just torture.

Please add PAC 12 Network or I will change services after my contract is expired. You offer Big 10 Network and the Longhorn Channel, why not PAC 12? Time Warner and DirectTV offer PAC 12 - now its your turn.

VERY disappointed that I've signed recently for another two years of FIOS (and at the most expensive plan, at that)...and still no Pac-12 Network. It's amazing the crap programming and channels that are "provided", and that have little to no appeal at all, while channels that might be of interest to those in this region go ignored. How can FIOS provide inane programming like Honey Boo Boo, "Real" Housewives, any number of foreign language channels, 500 channels of movies nobody wants to watch and won't give me what I'd like to see? Rest assured, if Verizon doesn't get this fixed soon, I'll be jumping ship as soon as humanly possible, and might consider going to the most basic plan so I can afford another provider that knows what the market wants. Sickening. Oh, and the USC/Hawaii game is on the CBS Sports Network tonight...IN Standard Definition? **bleep**, Verizon? SD looks pretty crappy on a 55" TV. Get you act together! Steamed...

I'll likely drop Vios and switch to another carrier if Verizon does carry PAC 12 networks by October. I for one would be willing to pay a premium for the service

What's happening is that Verizon as well as DirecTV wants to charge for the PAC12 Network in one way or another. The PAC12 Network wants it offered at no additional charge. This was the deal accepted by the service providers that are already on board with them. Why would the PAC12 give greedy-**bleep** latecomers like Verizon a better deal than the services that cooperatively partnered with the PAC12 from the beginning?

Why does Verizon Fios carry the NEW YORK YANKEES network but not the PAC 12. This is crazy. If you don't want to raise our rates to carry the pac 12 then dump the Yankees and carry your local teams network. Must be a former New Yorker who thinks the Yankees are more important than the Local college division.
This is the second year I will not be able to watch the Bruins.
If you don't correct this soon I will switch to another Provider who cares about our local area teams more then the midwest and the Eastern teams.
Typical east coast thinking people to want to watch teams we can't even stand more than the local ones.

Because an agreement was reached to carry YES in its "local markets" which required YES to be carried nationally. Although not everyone wants to see YES, enough areas do including its home region that their would really be an outcry if they tried not carrying it.

YES is the most worhtless national carriage deal in this history of RSNs. They can't carry any live baseball games out of market. I guess there are maybe a handful of NY transplants that are so obsessed they want to watch ... hell I don't even know what the channel offers. Same problem is coming down the pike with the LA Dodgers network. Its team specific RSNs that have no business getting national carriage due to broadcast rules. But PAC 12 Network will air 800 live sporting events this year, with no black out issues. Can watch in LA the same as NY, TX or wherever.

To date I have been very satisfied with Verizon Fios content, but I too am frustrated by your inability to negotiate a deal that would bring the PAC 12 Network to your West Coast subscribers. I was told last year when I telephoned customer service requesting the PAC 12 that you were attempting to negotiate a deal that would add it to your lineup. Apparently that attempt has been unsuccessful, and I too will seriously be looking at Dish Satellite as my provider in the future.
