Several times last week I saw the word PAUS on the STB while changing channels. It freezes that channel but allows me to change to another. Does anyone have information to share about this?

Some additional information is needed to begin. 🙂
. Which model STB is being used?
. Are there any other STBs experiencing the same problem?
. Have any troubleshooting steps been taken to try to resolve the issue...and if so, what was tried?

Im using the VMS 100
One other box not affected.
I simply change the channel which it allows me to do but the PAUS channel is still frozen.

Might the STB be the 4100?
Either way, I'm not familiar with that error message. Some steps to try to zap the message would be:
. Pull the batteries from the remote control, let it sit for a minute or two, put the batteries back in and test.
. Do a full reset of the STB in question and test once the STB has been fully reprogrammed.
If neither option resolves the issue, a call into Verizon Repair might be in order to have them do their troubleshooting and replace the STB and/or the remote as needed.

You could also try this on your cable box:
Main Menu > Customer Support > Top Support Tools > Fix Fios TV Issues
Then there is the good old remove power to the affected box, wait 3 minutes, plug it back in and see what happens.
You should also try dexman's suggestion for resetting the remote.

Ah! Curious why the last letter "E" is not shown on the screen when the button is pressed. 🤔
Anywhoo....
Looks like this one is solved/resolved, so I'll have a Moderator close the topic. 🙂
