I've noticed that on all shows on NBC that I've recorded and tried to play back on my two non-DVR STBs, the fast forward feature does not work. It looks like the picture is fast-forwarding, but the time bar does not move, and when I click play, it reverts back to the beginning.
I can fast forward these same shows on my DVR box, but not on either of the 2 STBs.
Anyone else have this problem or know of a fix? I've done all the in home agent stuff, unplugged, disconnected cable, etc.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Some networks require that fast forward be disabled. They want you to watch the commercials, not fast forward over them. It was the same way when I used a cable provider.

Even on DVR recorded shows? Not on demand.
This didn't happen when I first got FIOS, just started a while ago.
Funny that I can fast forward on the DVR box though.
Oh...the 'skip' button works, just not the the FF.

You are right. I made a DVR recording of NBC show and on playback fast forward worked.

Fast forward worked on DVR and an HD STB. I also made a standard definition recording and played it bact on a SD STB. Fast forword worked correctly there also.
It sounds like you've tried all the DIY fixes. A call to tech support might be required.
Sorry about my confusing replies. I didn't read your original post clearly the first time. My fault, not your writing.

Thanks for the clarification and for testing yours.
I was hoping a Verizon rep would see this and offer a suggestion.

Hoping for a VZ tech to respond.
