Quantum upgrade -- how long does it take to receive equipment?

I placed my quantum tv upgrade order on 7/31.

I did not receive a confirming email so I called customer service to confirm the order.  They indicated it would take 3 to 5 days for the equipment to arrive.  It did not arrive and subsequent calls indicated it would take 5 to 7 days and then 7 to 10 days.

I have not received my equipment nor a status update.

Verizon Direct indicated VMS equipment is currently on backorder and there is not an ETA on when it will be sent.

In my opinion you should have had it by now. What I would do is head over to dslreports.com and post your issue in the Verizon Driect forum where Verizon reps. will help you directly. They've always helped me there and never needed to call in. They will be able to look into it for you.

We ordered our quantum service on August 1 and are still waiting for equipment. I was told at the time of the order we would receive equipment in 8 business days..... complete lie!  I called back early last week and was told our equipment was on back order but should ship by the end of the week. I was also told there would be a follow up call on Friday (8/15) if equipment was not shipped.... no call. I called this morning and was told... "sorry equipment is on 22 day back order'". I renewed my 2 year agreement primarily on getting the quantum tv service. I feel like I've been given the runaround.... poor customer service all around for us.

Honestly I'm not to surprised its on backorder. The service is very, very popular.

When I got mine after coming back to fios after a 5 month break the tech said he was very busy working overtime because everyone was switching to fios because of quantum. Some people were getting as many as 8 client boxes for their house and a lot were ordering the premium service where you get 2 vms boxes.

Are there any fios stores around you at all? Sometimes customers who get quantum dislike it and return the boxes to the store. They may or may not stay in stock long though.

I ordered the service on Aug 12 and got a UPS shipment confirmation that it will be delivered tomorrow, Aug 20.  This is in MA with the shipment coming from PA.

Due to a large influx in demand for the new FiOS Quantum VMS/IP STBs they are currently on back order.  Most people are having to wait a month or so to get the new equipment, however there are a very few number of VZ Plus retail locations that do have them in stock, and will let you pick them up in store as long as your order is set up as such.

But remember, if you're transitioning from normal stbs (Motorola QIP 2500/62xx/7100/72xx, or Cisco STBs) a tech visit will be required for the installation of the new stbs.
