I'm having this problem with closed captions when using a 6200 HD set top box playing programs from a multi-room DVR.

The closed captions often come on late and flash too quickly to be read, sometimes they are barely noticable at all.

I'm using the HDMI output from the STB my TV so my only option is to use the closed-captions generated by the STB.

I'm not sure if using the component output will pass the CC data so my TV can decode and display it. 

My STBs all have the recent 1.6.2 update.

The problem existed before the update (with 1.6.0)

I noticed the thread from Oct/Nov 2008 about this (same or similar) problem. In that thread Techman28 indicated the problem was known and being investigated.  Any new informaiton, Techman28?
