I called Verizon and 5 times got disconnected due to heavy call volume. At least that is what I assume.
I activated the redzone and now it is saying my order cannot be completed. I have had it for 2 years and never had this issue. The one time I did get through to VZ the recording said my order could not be completed because the appointment was not scheduled! THERE IS NO APPOINTMENT! I am activating the same RedZone that is part of my package.
Any help?

This seems to be a systemic problem which anyone could have easily anticipated - except perhaps ???
That Verizon didn't anticipate and preclude this problem in the first place speaks to their customer support. How many of us wasted our time needlessly asking the same question to resolve a problem that shouldn't have occurred in the forst place?

Why does it need to be activated? It was almost impossible to get out of the loop and get back to the channel I was on. I haven't been real happy with FIOS lately, looks like we will be switching back to satellite in a few months.

Why would I need to activate NFL RedZone if I am paying for the Ultimate package? I did not think it would be necessary to do this since it's included in what I am paying for every month (for several years now). Was there a notice sent to existing customers to tell them that in order to receive the NFL RedZone channel (which you are paying for), you will be required to got to the RedZone channel and activate your subscription?
Very disappointed in lack of preparedness of Verizon on this ... the first official day of the 2012 NFL session.

Major {word filter avoidance} screw up for Verizon.
2 years on the Ultimate package and I've never had to "subscribe" to something I've already paid for. When I try to access channel 835 is instructs me to call 888-553-1555. Of course I tried 3 times and all I get is silence. I even called the TV support number on their webpage (amazing "chat" is not available today) and was on hold for 90 minutes before I hung up.
Requests... Order Activations?!!!! Hello Verizon are you listening and do you comprehend the 30+ pages of irate feedback???????????????????

Update here folks. NFL Redzone is now working for me. I am in Southern Virginia. Just came on a few minutes ago.
Message to Verizon,
You are walking a very fine line with me as a customer. How difficult would it have been to put a message on your phone system or even here on your site, or even on the NFL REDZONE Channel letting people know what was going on with the problems you were experiencing??????????????........NOT DIFFICULT AT ALL!!!!!!
There still is no excuse for most of us not being able to get a hold of anyone in your customer service and tech support departments. Instead of having your customer service reps concentrate on SALES, you need to get back to basics and have them DO CUSTOMER SERVICE. No one is fooled when they do get a hold of a rep and you have a supervisor in the back ground screaming at them to get a sale. LOL. Sooooooo unprofessional I have to say. GET BACK TO BASICS VERIZON. IMPLEMENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. WHAT A CONCEPT HUH??.

So are we to understand from Verizon tweets "Its a nationwide outage and they sent the ticket out to a technician" .....hmmmm nationwide, yet one ticket, one repairman. I really hope its that Maytag guy!!! I can see Verizon having one technician twiddling his thumbs... DUHHHHH

I have now been on hold for 1 hour and 50 minutes. This is an absolute joke. Tempted to go order the Sunday ticket via my PS3 and call it a day with Fios!
