5.89 a month for a bogus fee. That's pretty bad. Over 16% of my fios bill is taxes and fees. Feel like I am getting nickeled and dimed to death. I know some of this is beyond your control but 5.89 for Regional Sports is worse than what ESPN charges for their programming.

ESPN is reported to charge more than that.
One of the purposes of the rsf is to allow verizon to more localize the fees charged by regional sports channels. There is somewhat of a difference depending on where ypou live.
Also allows them to have those that dont want any sports to pay for thay programming.
I believe tnis is becoming a common practice among cable providers

Bogus no, hard to swallow yes (I do not like it either). It's primarily to pay for your local sports channels. Some packages that do NOT include the sports channels do not incur the charge. If you like sports and want to watch your local teams you have to suck it up. Also Verizon is NOT the only carrier that charges a regional sports fees, the ALL do (Xfinity, AT&T, etc.)
Just remember every time you hear of a dispute between a cable company and some channel provider it is about the channel provider wanting MORE money. Every time the Cable company gives in these kind of "Fees" are going to appear. At the end of the day WE, the subscriber pay for all those higher rates.

This is a fee Verizon (and some other cable providers) charge to offset fees charged by local sports channels. As this charge varies by region, they pass it along vs including some average in overall costs.
