Under my MRDVR / HD-STB config, I did not sign up for Verizon FIOS (or DSL) internet access so I dont have a verizon.net address. I do have a free (company paid for) XOHost DSL account, thus I dont feel compelled to pay extra for something I get free.
When I tried to use highly desired WEBDVR programming feature, I found I cannot access it. Apparently, Verizon people state that its because Internet access through Verizon is mandatory for this feature. This is a little detail that seems glossed over. I am sure most people have Verizon internet access so its rarely addressed. Please confirm if this is a fact and maybe you want to list it on your "Rules".
Seems strange that the FIOS business plan requires it, but technically it does not seem required as the MRDVR is already accessible via IP. Perhaps a publically routable address is not assigned to it until I pay for internet access. In any event, it seems like they should not make one conditional upon the other. Thought ?
Side question: I HAD the MRDVR w/ HD STB (and all the 1.61 issues). I returned it 2 months ago, replacing it with stand-alone HD-DVR's in each room. Being an engineer, I sure would like to see a consolidated list of the 1.62 fixes and known issues before switching back. This would be a great new folder to provide within the forum.
