My husband and I each have our own favorites lists. Within the past week or two, new channels have been popping up on my list when I didn't add them. I go in and remove them and my list is fine until the next day or an hour or two (changes randomly) and then they are back and sometimes even new ones appear. The big problem is that the porn channels with their descriptions are showing up. This is a bigger problem when I have to go through my list with my kids present. What is going on and how do I delete them for good? Help please!

It keeps doing it to me and it drives me nuts. I go in, remove the stuff that was added, and next time I check, there's more stuff added that I didn't add. It's kinda **bleep** me off to be honest.

I had the same problem but it looks like I got this resolved today (!)
I started a chat with customer service, and got transferred to tech support. The tech guy restarted my box, erasing all personal settings (needed my phone number and the serial number of the set-top box). After this reset all the favorites got wiped out, and now it looks like they are stable. I have slowly added a bunch of channels to the 2 lists, and so far they are not corrupted.
BTW, when they ask you for the serial number, there's no need to dig in the back of the box -- you can do Menu -> System -> System Information then click INFO.

This is horrible!

Started with Favorites 2 going haywire, adding channels by itself and basically not functioning properly. Now Favorites 1 is messed up too and unuasable. All my boxes are affected....

I have tried everything. The answer, which fios wonโt admit to, is to upgrade your cable box. Yup, thatโs right, Verizon has found yet another way to make you pay for their service. For $5 more per month, per box you can upgrade to their newest system. When i inquired about cancelling my service they said I would have to pay an early termination fee! Got me again, thanks Verizon.

My favorites2 is messed up again. A couple of months ago I got a new STB and things worked for a while then slowly degraded.
Coincident with the end of the year Verizon messages that this or that channel is going to be dropped etc, my favorites 2 has stopped accepting any changes I make to it.
The programmers supporting this feature are decidedly inferior.

I've had Verizon Fios since it was made available where I live. For close to 10 years I never had an issue with Favorites. A few months ago my Favorites 1 would randomly add channels not programmed by me and that I will never watch. I have been unable to fix this, I replaced my STB this week, have spent more hours of my own and more than enough with "Support" trying to figure this out. In doing searches on the web and locating other sites that have groups discussing this problem I see dates going all the way back to July 2008, that's 10 years ago. My guess would be that if you are plagued with randomly added channels (and I've had the guide Favorites 1 up on the screen and actually saw channels being added while I'm staring at the guide), it will most likely never be fixed.

Add me to the list of people who have the "Poltergeist" settop box.
The Fav2 list on my secondary non-DVR box started becoming corrupted about 2 months ago. (No issues with our primary box with the DVR.) I have FIOS, if that matters.
I have even deleted everything in Fav2, only to see become repopulated with crap channels a couple of days later. I just renewed my contract, so you think that Vz would do the right thing & upgrade me.

My favorites are no longer working.
I have reset, restored and nothing works.
I have set up my favorites 6 times now. And they just do not keep.
Sometimes they just add or delete CH. sometimes the 2nd Favorite choice is not available (as if it is not set up).
What is going on anyone having this issue?

I to have the same problem. Reported the problem on chat and the Verizon representative said that the technical folks will be advised, there is no status reporting, and that I will know when the problem is resolved when the unwanted favorite chanels disappear and do not return.
I hope that someone out there knows how to directly contact the technical folks to find out when this problem will be fixed

Update on my problem.
After posting here, I called Vz Tech Support. The CSR was quite good, He thought that the issue was with the internal memory of the box, and agreed to send me out a new non-DVR box.
Once I received the new box, I hooked it up & let to perform its self-installation. Once completed, and added some channels to Fav1 and Fav2. I cycled the power on the box, and this time both Fav1 & Fav2 were populated with the same type of crap channels I had with the original box's Fav2. Worse, the box wouldn't accept any channels that I wanted to add. I just shipped the new box back to Vz, and will just have to tolerate the issues with the original box.
I now believe that Vz is unintentionally "pushing" these Favorite channel alternations out .... its not the box.

Is Verizon Working on this? !!! Over a week this has been going on!
We are paying for a service that just only works when it likes? The remotes they give out stop working so typing in the Ch. # is a near impossibly. and know you have to scroll thu all the stations!!? All this for a premium $$
If Verizon has any idea as to what is going on they should at least let us know and give an estimate of how long their equipment is going to malfunction.

Within the last month I started having issues with my Favorites list. All of a sudden some channels I have had on my Favorites list for years started removing themsleves and I could not re-add them to my Favorites list. The message I get is "unable to add channel at this time. Try again later. The only way I can add them back to my Favorites list is to Re-Boot the box. Them I have to add ALL my Favorites again. This works for a day and then the same channels drop off again. This was isolated to one box (I have 3, one DVR box). I switched 2 cables at the 3-way splitter (which has been in use for years) and the issue moved to another box. Logic would tell me that the splitter had gone bad. I replace the splitter with a high dollar splitter. 2 Boxes required resetting. Then I added channels to my Favorites and all worked fine for 5 hours. Then the problem came back on the box that had the original issue. And, on top of that, the problem has migrated to a second box. The third box has and continues to work perfectly as it has for years. A side note...Verizon replaced the DVR box and one of the other boxes because they thought that wold correct the problem The replacements did not correct the problem. Any ideas anyone????

I HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE FAVORITES ON MY TV. THE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN GOING ON FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. I HAVE CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE SEVERAL TIMES AND NO ONE HAS FIXED THE PROBLEMS. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH VERIZON FIOS HAS NO TECHNICAL PEOPLE THAT CAN SOLVE PROBLEMS.

I think a poorly trained support staff. I finally managed to get to the option where I could chat with a live person. After working with them for a while they decided that I needed to reset my router. I asked if I would lose anything, his reply was no, everything will be the same and I would be automatically reconnected to the chat. Wrong! It reset everything, including the password. After playing around to get my computer to connect to the router the chat session was lost. Not everyone has the luxury of having the router near the computer, mine happens to be well out of reach and sight. Even so, the tech person should have known that doing a reset would erase any changes to default.

I have been having this problem since early December. Chat line and voice line Tech support is virtually non-existent. They give you scripted answers whether they fit the problem or not. Their first step is always rebooting the STB's and reinstalling the latest software, which of course erases all of your favorites. I have already gone throught the procedurea dozen times of selecting a favorite list for each of 3 boxes, deleting Favorites 2, which I have never used. Only to find in a couple of days that Favorites 1 list has had channels added and deleted and Favorites 2 has repopulated it self again.
I count on the favorties feature to help my wife with a very low vision problem. She memorizes the number of sations up or down from a given point. But, this random changes and the favorites 2 popping up is very bad for her and drives me crazy also.
The last 2 times I chatted wre very bad. I was told they wre elevating the problem to a higher support level who would call me back by 10 AM the next day. Three days later I chatted again and said where is the call. Instead he told me he was going to make an appointment for a tech to come to my home and fix the problem. I smelled a rat and asked who was going to pay for it. I was told they would give me an esitmate. I had an estimate to resolve your problem and you equipment. He insisted and told me they would probably want to replace all my wiring and outlet boxes. I told him forget it.
So is Verizon going to fix this problem or not. Because I will not go on with this too much longer and I am already shopping around to those offering to buy me out of my just renewed Fios contract (I now believe I made a big mistake)

Is anyone having this issue on anything other than legacy stbs?
