SEC Network/sports networks

I know that down south SEC Network is offered; however, considering you offer the Big 10 network and the Longhorn network nationwide I don't see how a network for such a huge fanbase isn't offered.  Especially for the Ultimate Package.  Can we please get more sports channels, especially in HD?

The overflow channel for the football games this week on the SEC Network will be channel 332 per this article. They are carrying two games at the same time at noon,4 pm and 7:30 pm.

I get the feeling Verizon is waiting this out to see what impacts of not carrying the SEC network has for them. I'm sure they feel it may have minimal to no impact because of their stance on the Pac 12 Network. But I"m sure in areas of the south it will have a pretty big impact, The SEC is huge in the south and not being able to get their football games and in some areas basketball will have a huge impact on Verizon. But will it be enough overall? I'm not sure. I don't know how many customers they have in SEC states?

I just called Verizon to inquire about status and was told that Verizon would begin carrying the SEC network on August 17.  I hope that is truth and not fiction.

I feel like if they had a hard date like that there would already be a press release. if nothing is announced by Wednesday im bouncing to make sure I can get satellite installed by the 28th for the Carolina game.

This seems highly unlikely.  I just canceled my Verizon service today and gave the SEC Network as the primary reason for doing so.  If there was a date known for the SEC Network coming to Verizon, you can bet the representative would have said something.

Incidentally, when I turned in my equipment, the person I gave it to said that a lot of people have been complaining about the SEC network not being offered.

Maybe, but don't expect a call center to be on the same page as the corporate office.  You will tend to get conflciting information based on who you talk to.

Need SEC or I will be switching to DirecTV.

Yes, but if they are hemoraging subscribers in the South as bad as they seem to be, you'd think they would make sure their retention people are informed.

What is the reason Verizon refuses to add the SEC Network or even let us know if they are going to?? Obviously all of these other major providers feel like they should and verizon just refuses to.

My Fios will be set up on Friday of this week. I have a co-worker who has Fios. He told me that Verizon sent out a message on TV saying that they will have the SEC Network come Thursday morning. This is the day the network is supposed to launch. I love your prices and the channel selection. But..... if you all do not carry the network soon or atleast by the time the first game comes on I will leave. Remember, I have the 30 day trail and I will use it if I can't watch the first game on August 28.

At the very least you all need to put out a message saying that you all are negotiating with ESPN. Consumer anxiety is not good for business.

And this momentus news has escaped notice by the news media or the SEC?

No message on my TV about FIOS adding the SEC network! My neighbor has Comcast and he said they put out a message recently. I think your co-worker is having some fun with you! As of this morning in talking with a Verizon tech support person there is nothing new to report on the SEC! It doesn't sound promising at this point!

Just signed up for Verizon less than a month ago.  If no kind of deal with the SEC Network is announced before the start of the season, I'll be getting out within the 30 day window and going to DirecTV.

I guess they lied to your friend. I WANT SEC!

I love the fact that there is not a contact Verizon button to send a email on programming. I guess they could not handle the volume

So I can watch some clown chase "bigfoot" or renovate houses in HD but not the SEC Network? That's brilliant. It does, however, make our renewal decision much easier. Why call some poor sap in customer service who's under heavy pressure to keep customers when THEY can't do anything about this. This executive decision is a deal-breaker, and calling will just hurt someone's numbers.

I have called Comcast and they are coming to my apartment on Friday August 15th to set up Xfinity.  I will cancel and stay with Verizon but if there is no announcement made by then I will be left with no other choice but to swtich and I am not going through the headache of switching back to Verizon if the SEC Network is added later.  I have no problem with Verizon passing the cost of adding this network along to the consumer, just carry it please.  Thank you, I hope I am still a customer at this time on Friday.

Verizon is the only provider within the SEC footprint not to offer the SEC Network. Absolutely unacceptable. What can possibly be their reason why?
JMG322

Can't think of any reason.  It isn't as if they would be footing the bill.  All cost would passed along to the customer.

I just think their customer service is lousy.
