SEC Network/sports networks

I know that down south SEC Network is offered; however, considering you offer the Big 10 network and the Longhorn network nationwide I don't see how a network for such a huge fanbase isn't offered.  Especially for the Ultimate Package.  Can we please get more sports channels, especially in HD?

The overflow channel for the football games this week on the SEC Network will be channel 332 per this article. They are carrying two games at the same time at noon,4 pm and 7:30 pm.

According to the chat I just had online (hey, everyone else is doing it so I figured I should to):  It will be available only to those on the Extreme or Ultimate packages.  It will be available on channel 75.  They do not yet have information on HD availability at this time.  It will be avalable on WatchESPN online but, again, only to those with Extreme or Ultimate packages.

Pretty standard info I guess, but this means I'd have to upgrade packages.  I suppose I could upgrade and then just downgrade again.

I will say, the guy I was chatting with gave pretty lengthy responses (obviously scripted) but gave them VERY fast so it was an obvious copy and paste response.

Here is what I learned from Verizon rep as it pertains to Tampa:

The SEC Network will be launched on channel 75 and channel 575 in HD for customers in Prime, Preferred, Extreme or Ultimate FiOS TV packages.

It will be live in time for the first football games on Aug. 28

That's not the response I received today.

Channel 75 in SD  (575 in HD for TX and FL) for Extreme and Ultimate packages (also Prime and Preferred in TX and FL).  It will be live in time for the first game on Aug. 28.  They said keep an eye on the website and social media for more details in the near future.

This whole thread is hearsay so I'm not sure why you've decided to chime in now. Were Verizon reps told to ignore this thread too? The TOS were a little unclear on that. Anyways, I have the Extreme package and there is no way in heaven (for the lack of word that won't be edited) that I'm paying an extra $25 to upgrade to the Ultimate package for one lousy channel (in SD, nonetheless) that's costing Verizon Fios .25 cents per customer who live outside the SEC footprint. I'd like to know why Verizon thinks its right to charge customers a 1000% markup just because the SECN is high in demand. PATHETIC!!!!!!

Yes, it is quite hilarious to say the least.  They've been totally silent for nearly 60 pages of discussion and finally decide to show their faces just to scold us for having the audacity to share the meager tidbits of information we're able to come up with.

How dare we?!?

LawrenceC, this entire ugly incident could have been avoided had Verizon simply been willing to treat their custormers with the smallest shred of dignity and keep us informed.

What good is this forum then if nobody from Vz reads it? Falling on deaf ears as usual.

You are asking far too much from Verizon.

$25? I'd love it if ultimate was only $25. Where I live its $35 more and I read that people who are out of their 2 year deals are getting notices that they are going to see price increases come October.

It would be nice if people didn't have to re-post their conversations with Verizon agents.  That would be the case IF Verizon would make some kind of announcement about what is happening.  Please explain why that hasn't happened?

They probably don't want to say anything because of the ongoing deal that's waiting to be finalized legally. I guarantee you they have lawyers going through things with a fine tooth comb before anyone signs a deal.

Verizon has officially stated multiple times in the apst, they will not put out details of any ongoing negotiations.

Once a deal is complete, they will make an announcement.

May not like it, but that is the reason nothing has come out.

As for posting what people are being told, you can see that people are getting differing stories.

So nothing is official until it is announced.

That would be fine if reps were consistent with their responses. Verizon doesn't deal with ongoing negotiations however, depending on the time of day and the rep on the phone, customers are getting different responses which just adds to the confusion (In otherwords, we know nothing but we want your business so we'll lie to you). Maybe Verizon reps aren't following proper protocol. Sending out misleading information to valued customers is bush league tactics and Verizon should know better.

Verizon just Tweeted that the SEC Network is coming soon. Stay tuned for details.  That was all they said. So we should hear more later today or tomorrow.

Not seeing anything related to the SEC Network on Verizon's twitter page.

Edit...nevermind.  Was looking at Verizon's twitter feed.  It's on the FiOS twitter feed.

Here's the SEC Networks/ESPN official announcement. It will be on channels 575 and 75 in Florida and Texas. Channel 75 only everywhere else. You have to have Extreme or Ultimate packages to get it on the other markets other than Florida or Texas.

I would like to get it on HD but I am not that picky. I'm just glad to get the games period. It will also be available on ESPN Watch app too.
