SEC Network/sports networks

I know that down south SEC Network is offered; however, considering you offer the Big 10 network and the Longhorn network nationwide I don't see how a network for such a huge fanbase isn't offered.  Especially for the Ultimate Package.  Can we please get more sports channels, especially in HD?

The overflow channel for the football games this week on the SEC Network will be channel 332 per this article. They are carrying two games at the same time at noon,4 pm and 7:30 pm.

As of last night no HD for me in northern Virginia. ESPN Watch was working for me last night. I hooked up the laptop to the TV and watch in HD that way. I do this for MLBTV all season. It's some hassle but not too bad. The connection is usually very good for me. Some nights are a problem but not many. On my Kindle Fire I did have to re-load the ESPN Watch app on it to see the SEC Network. I really don't know why it wouldn't work until I did that but after I did it was fine.

I used to hook up the computer to my HD tv. It worked great. But now I use Apple TV to view Watch ESPN/SECN. It works like a charm and the picture quality is excellent and no hassle of  all the wires and hooking up the laptop.

No HD in VA...no upgrade in the pakcage. I'm not upgrading for an SD channel.

This is absolutely absurd...

Offer it in HD and you'll get a customer to uprade their package Verizon...otherwise...be watching at someone else's house (non Verizon customers...) or sports bar.

I would think at this point the thread is dead.

SEC is up.

HD for those in TX and FL.
SD for the rest of us.

If and when Verizon decides to field HD for the rest of us, we will then get it.

That's the kind of mentality they want you to have, sure.

But, I'd rather see continued vocal demand for something that should have made common sense to anyone supposedly intelligent enough to have the kind of job where they get to control programming for a company as big as Verizon.

Live sports is about the ONLY reason to pay for cable anymore....You can find EVERYTHING else on the internet...in great quality. Or Netflix.   The one thing that drives paying for cable each month for many people is the experience of live sports, namely football.  It's the number one sport in our country.....The SEC network should have been a godsend for cable companies.....Would have drawn new business to them in many cases......But now it's a huge embarrassing blackeye for Verizon and people like myself will be taking their business elsewhere in a couple months when the ball-and-chain "contract" is up and I'd no longer have to pay their ransom to switch.

i'm with big johnson.  the only real reason i even have cable anymore is for football, and i can get that other places now too.  the sec network was something that was keeping me hanging on to fios cable.  sd broadcasts ain't gonna get it

And complaining here is not going to get HD added outside FL and NY.

Verizon will wait to see NUMBERS of viewers before it decides what to do.

Because Verizon Management doesn't read these forums.  In fact only some admins read them.

I am trying to watch the SEC pre-game in SD,,,picture is painful to watch. I have to switch to ESPN until the games start. I wonder if the decision makers watch SD channels on their 60 inch tv's? Awful!

Live sports right now is absolutely the only reason I have cable. Period.

Being an AU fan...and fan of the SEC in general...and having to pay more, just for an SD channel? Yeah...no thanks.

Verizon will either pony up HD for all or be dropped for Cox/Dish.

So Verizon is waiting to see how many people watch the channel in SD before deciding if they will offer it in HD in all markets???

This is stupid. If course not as many will watch the channel because it's in SD!! Who wants to watch sports in SD?? So they are basically saying screw the rest if the country.

How is it stupid? You have to think of it from a business stand point.

They have to pay x amount per subscriber to carry the channel. ESPN already wants a lot for their current channels as it is. If they have to pay extra for HD and not enough watch it in HD in different markets then they will loose money. It also keeps the regional sports network fee down.

If they just simply added it in HD everywhere right away guess who will end up paying more for it? You and me.

Let them see that there is enough fan base that will watch it in SD and then maybe they will pay for and add HD everywhere.

Just because you might watch the channel where you live doesnt mean enough in your market will. They have to see a return investment in it like any business would want.

I dont doubt everyone will see it in HD soon, but then when the regional sports network fees go up everyone will start complaining about that as well.

Went to watch the Arkansas/Auburn game on SD and what a joke! Turned over to Apple TV to get a normal HD reception. What a pain in the butt to switch channels back and forth to watch multiple games. Thought I would have a work around but I guess I'm going to have to show action by calling Comcast Tuesday. I can't take another weekend of SEC like this. Poor upper management. Somebody please send this post to a real difference maker.

So does fios not have the SEC alternate channel? I couldn't find the end of the auburn game. It was delayed due to weather and finished on the alternate, but the only channel I have is 75.

I don't have a contract, so it would be easy for me to switch to comcast, but I'd really rather not. I actually do like my fios service. But I do wish they'd get the full deal in virginia. I'll give them a little time but not long.

WatchESPNapp updated for SEC Network - HD Report                If you have a compatible device like a Chromecast or appletv Amazon FIRE Roku or XBOX then you can get the watchespn app and stream it to your big screen in HD no matter where you're at.   It's also available for mobile devices in general Apple and Android.

The alt channel is up, at least in Florida, in SD and HD.  Haven't seen anything but logos on it so far.

No channel 332 in Southern California as of Friday. Would be surprised if it showed up.

Don't know who put solved on this thread, but frankly the question of when we get the HD version of this is still out there?  It just looks terrible in SD
