Save Funimation Petition

On, or after, March 15 2012, Funimation (channel 262) will be removed from the FiOS TV® lineup and you will no longer be able to view this content.

They claim to be discontinuing it due to "very low viewership". We need to show them otherwise! Sign the petition to save Funimation!

They should have something like a Nielson's rating tracking device in the cable boxes to see what is watched most frequently. I guarantee that most of the lineup would change. I just don't see that FUNIMATION would be that low on the totem pole. Find another station if any (don't want to knock anyone out from what they like to watch) Leave FUNIMATION ALONE! (now that's in the voice of the guy who says leave Britney alone)

I went to facebook and posted. Please HELP  http://www.facebook.com/FUNimation I don't know how far this will get, but it's worth a try. I just am going to relax and watch some anime before they mess up something else 😞

Count me in!

WARNING VERIZON: This might be a deal-breaker for my family. If Comcast has Funimation we might switch back to cable. And if we lose our Verizon Triple Play savings, there's no reason not to switch to the lowest-cost providers available for high-speed internet, telephone, and even our mobile phones which are currently with Verizon. Fun how dominoes work, isn't it?

The votes were not erased.  We are in the process of merging all threads on the Idea Exchange into one, just as they have been merged on this board.

That allows the board to be organized, and for one central thread to be the focus of your comments and votes.  Feel free to vote on the thread and leave comments here:

Petition signed. We have three boxes in our house and Funimation is on one of them most of the time. If it is cancelled I will be considering other providers for the future.

Nice!  I certainly signed (no money donation though...) and I recco Verizon cancelled one of the bizillion Sports programs instead, of maybe sacrifice one of the several versions of Nicktoons they currently have on the venue...either way  LEAVE OUR FUNIMATION CHANNEL ALONE!  Thanks!!

I mentioned in the Ideas Exchange section of the site, but Funimation is also one of the last Localization and Distribution companies out there in the anime industry. Losing them could really hurt them a lot and hurt it's viewers/fanbase. Yes, anime is a niche, but c'mon guys...

I've also mentioned that because this may be the reason why we haven't received Funimation HD was becasue of this. I said that Verizon FiOS is the main reason why I have Funimation and G4TV. If it comes down to it and if G4TV is the next one on the list to get dropped, without the chance of getting it in HD, say goodbye to me, Verizon.

I'll definitely be signing that petition for sure. There's no way I'd lose Funimation.

Signed. Hopefully this gets through, I'd hate to have to cancel my service because they can't keep channels I go out of my way to pay for. Bad business.

Verizon has great equipment and technology, but investing in that is a lost cause when you provide so many disservices to your customers.  You need to invest in your employees and your customers.  You treat us like money statistics and it's just a matter of time before your growth falters or, worse, your company becomes unprofitable.

The anime community is very loyal and very into anime.  I don't think anyone appreciates how to advertise to and generate money from enthusiastic groups like this.  Dropping Funimation will have consequences because this community will act on their disappointment.  Please do what you can to keep Funimation where it's at or offer it in some way, possibly as a premium channel the way you offer Anime Network (for $6.99/mo in case anyone wants to know).

This is definitely pushing me over the edge, considering the various problems I'm having with Verizon.  Customer service always gives me the run-around when I try to resolve these problems.  It's beyond bad, beyond a mere disservice.  If I'm not given a way to downgrade my tv service (since Funimation is the only reason I have the Extreme package), then it's just a matter of whether or not I take the early termination penalty or wait to switch over to Cox (since Verizon is trying to offer their lackluster channel lineup).

I hope you're listening, Verizon.  But I'm honestly not surprised if you're not.

I'll sign too.  I started my HD service yesterday, and I find out today that Verizon is really dropping the ball on us... Ugh!!

But, the anime community is truly a wonderful group...  I'm glad there are more of you out there just as upset about this news as I am, and voicing your support of the channel.  I hope Verizon takes notice...

I LOVE FUNIMATION.  THIS IS SO WRONG.  I WAS SO EXCITED WHEN I GOT FIOS AGAIN BECAUSE I COULD WATCH FUNIMATION AGAIN.  THIS IS SO WRONG.

My entire family was disappointed by this so I'm glad that we're not the only ones that do not want Funimation to go away. We prefer this cartoon channel vs. the rest and already signed the Ipetition.

I just talked to a verizon operator and he said to send in an email through the contact us page. The shear volume of emails will be much better than some online petition he said. I'm gonna send my email in now.

I keep my channel on FUNIMATION more than any other channel. I get all my anime titles from this station. When I first got the email about the closing of this channel, I called immediately. I was so upset...I was like now what else are they going to take from me. I look at other anime, but this is a whole lot of anime that is in English instead of having to search the anime sites to find out what you like or don't like. As we know most of the anime sites are in Japanese and I unfortunately don't speak that language, but if I just want to watch with the sub text I can. Most people over a certain age may not admit to liking anime, but I am 40+ and I just can't stop. I'm a child at heart and probably will always be. Please leave this channel in your line up

As with many other subscribers, the only reason our household pays for the higher tier channel line-up is access to FUNimation. As soon as the bonehead bean-counters make this move, I will be dropping to the lower-tier. A la carte programming can't come soon enough - there are 5 Disney channels, dozens of shopping and news channels, duplicates and useless channels required by must-carry laws. I will GLADLY pay the same amount for fewer channels of my choice! That includes FUNimation!!! I wonder if TimeWiener has any anime?

I'm so thrilled to see such support for the channel that's primarily watched in my home. Funimation is by far my favorite channel and stay on my TV. I am appalled and ashamed that Verizon is using such a lame and flimsy excuse to cancel this channel. I am 100% positive that some of the garbage channels they get a lot less viewers. I hate that big corporation think they can push us around and feed us trash and think we are supposed to like it. Verizon should ashamed of itself.

When I moved to Maryland a year ago, I made it a point to have Fios in my home against the Comcast lovers because they had what Comcast didn't...the Funimation Network. 24 hours of anime was like heaven for me because I have a deep love of anime. But now Verizon is crushing my dream and so now I want to crush them. They better think twice about this. I don't think they realize how many customers will dump them over this. I am one of them!
