On, or after, March 15 2012, Funimation (channel 262) will be removed from the FiOS TV® lineup and you will no longer be able to view this content.
They claim to be discontinuing it due to "very low viewership". We need to show them otherwise! Sign the petition to save Funimation!

This is truly unfortunate. I have a deep love for anime and funimation provides one of, if not the only linear anime channel. I cannot understand why this has low viewership as it is the only channel of its kind. Considering the amount of news, sports and entertainment channels, I don't see how Verizon is suffering from keeping this channel. Please reconsider not dropping this channel, even if it means broadcasting it only in Standard Definition. But to cancel the channel entirely is an assault against the legion of anime fans subscribed to Verizon solely for the funimation channel. SAVE FUNIMATION!!!

I posted this in the Ideas Excange section and has definitely given me a bit of hope.
This came straight from the Official Funimation Channel Facebook fanpage:
"FiOS TV news update: Discussions are still going on, which is encouraging. Please continue to let Verizon FiOS know that you want us to still be offered on their service. You make a difference! #anime #FiOSTVFUNimationChannel"
Seems like our support is pushing through a bit

Please do not remove Funimation Channel. It is the only anime channel. I will have no reason left not to switch cable providers.

for real, DO NOT CANCEL funimation. whatever the reason is (guessing a contract dispute) it isnt fair to fios subscribers to have to suffer from buracratic bullcrap.
its the only channel like it; showing the kind of porgramming i enjoy. i know im not alone.
please dont make me have to cancel fios, just continue to air my favorite 24/7 anime network, thank you.

I just want to say that I plan to drop Fios the moment I find anohter provider in my area that has the Funimation channel if you do indeed drop it next month. I only watch two channels on Fios and Funimation happens to be one of them, along with the main reason I picked up your tv service in the first place. I like you guys and would love to keep my service, but you’re giving me no choice here

We sometimes make changes to our channel lineup in order to continue offering our customers the most popular programming. We try to maintain all services offered, but sometimes changes need to be made. The good news is that FUNimation programming is still available on their website (www.funimation.com) and with FiOS Internet, you are getting the nation's fastest, most consistent Internet with unmatched downstream speeds of up to 150 mbps and upstream speeds of more than 35 mbps.

Are you kidding Heather? Are you actually trying to sell us MORE services, when you have 16+ pages of people saying they want you to KEEP this channel on the TV platform?
Trust me when I say that most of the people who watch this channel are already VERY internet savy, and know they can find Funimation on the web. We don't want that. We want the channel. We want to be surprised with new programming. We know we can stream 80% of their content from Netflix (commercial free I may add) or their site, but that doesn't compare to the 'oh wow' feeling discovering something on the channel. I can name several series on this channel I would have normally bypassed when looking through lists of things to 'stream'.

Either Heather is not an anime fan or she can speak Japanese 🙂 Plus who sleeps in front of their computer. I don't and neither does anyone else. Even though Heather has a job to do, which I respect, she just doesn't get the fact that any anime offered on the web is in a subtext. I just like all the other FUNIMATION fans know about all the sites to view anime, but it is better when you can view it in your own language. If it had not been for the Funimation channel lineup how would we even know what to look for on the anime sites. I like many get the insights of what is new and fresh on anime. We don't need a new service but we do need the corporate office to know that the FUNIMATION fans want this to stay as our channel lineup.

I just signed up with FIOS and it was installed on Feb 7th. The whole reason why I signed up was for FUNimation! And now they are cancelling ? I have to consider cancelling FIOS since I am still in that 30 day window to do so. I just called customer service to complain about this and was told by the rep " no one told us the cannel was being dropped". So customer service doesn't even knwo what's going on? I don't have alot of confidence in this company right now.
Heather - is this really how FIOS works? Tell people to go to a website to watch what they want? If I take your advice that really does mean I should cancel FIOS alltogether becasue pretty much any TV progeram is available to watch somewhere online. So what you are telling us all is that FIOS is a useless service and we should just watch everything on the internet?
Also, very disappointed that your customer service reps are clueless as to what is going on.
I am really starting to wish I just stayed with my previous carrier.

Heather most people here are upset about us no longer being able to watch Funiamtion on “tv”. We know full well the internet is filled with streaming, but your argument is that we should cancel fios and simply go to the internet to watch anime. Many fans enjoy your service, but you shouldn’t change anything that people view as popular or you’re just asking for trouble. At the end of the day most people enjoy watching something on tv if they can

Aw man! That's a total drag for you... you just GOT it. I switched too cuz I could get funimation with Verizon. I'll be taking my business elsewhere or if I can't get out of this contract, I will have the puniest of puny for service to ensure these folks get as little of my money as possible. Save Funimation!

Oh Heather, are you for real? We are anime fans; we KNOW where and how to find it, however, we want the station on our televisions to share the experience with family or friends. Have you ever tried to view a show crowded around a laptop with a 9 & 11 year old? I have a large TV screen and I want my anime on the TV!
Do you have any idea how many customers Verizon stands to lose? I have posted this cancellation on to every forum that even mentions anime and provided the Verizon number to phone to complain and several petition links. Obviously, your company DOES NOT listen to its customers. If it did, we all would receive an email telling us we won and can have our Funimation. Have you noticed that there are no noticeable entries about the bridges station? What does that tell you??????
Sorry, Heather, I know you're just a moderator and probably got the short straw to damage control the irate anime legion. But I have to say, the customer rep I talked today was just as upset about losing 262 as i was. I guess you can't give an opinion; just continue to give us the drivel about how Verizon needs to make changes and move on, blah, blah, blah..... But if this station gets yanked we will all know Verizon is not loyal to its customers and rest assured, we'll all take our business elsewhere. I think we anime fans have made it abundantly clear what we want.

REALLY?!?!?! We aren't upset about the fantastic internet service that apparently NEVER ceaces to amaze billions of people across the nation... WE JUST WANT FUNIMATOIN!!! I'm sure that more people would want a unique and well-liked channel rather than a second Nickelodeon... ONE WAS ENOUGH!!!
Verizon, you seem to underestimate the power of anime fans. An online petition put up only a week or two ago has about 8500+ signatures...
FanBoys and FanGirls will unite and RISE!!!

OK, you cancel Funimation and maybe we funimation fans can get your competition to carry it and we move completely from fiost. Then see how many of your customers watch funimation online.

I don't understand how you can keep channels that I rarely watch on Verizon and remove a channel I do watch. Keep the Funimation channel. I do watch the Funimation Channel.
