Set top box rebooting at 3:06AM nearly every day

I record a show from 3AM-4AM.
At least 3 times a week now (for the last month) I'm seeing that the my set top box (DVR) reboots at 3:06AM, which of course, interrupts the show I'm recording for about 5 minutes while the box tries to recover.
It always happens at 3:06AM.
Can someone explain why this is happening?
Is this Verizon's actions? Or is this a sign the STB is having trouble?
How can I make this stop?

What model DVR?
Could be hard drive is starting to fail.

The reboot is always 6 minutes into my 3AM recording. Other recordings at other times have no issue. The time is too specific for me to believe it's a random hard drive failure -- unless Verizon has programmed their boxes to reboot at 3AM if they detect a problem.
That's the information I'm after -- why is this always happening at 3:06AM?

Can you drop the 3:06 recording one day to see if it still reboots?
