Sony VPL 295es native 4K projector won't work with new FIOS TV one box.  I connected the box directly to the projector and cannot get a picture to display.

I checked all of the things you suggested, but for some reason, the signal from the set top box will not display.  However, when I route the TV One box signal through my 4k compatible receiver...voilà!!   IT'S ALIVE!!!  For some reason, the projector prefers the signal from the receiver.

Thanks for helping me solve this mystery.

yep, tried that as well as with one of the EDID boxes that had a number of manual settings.

Can you try setting the Fios box to 1080i in the service menu and see what happens?

Sent this to support, they gave me this for you to try:

Another suggestion would be to physically remove CEC with an eliminating device.  There is a small HDMI male – female plug device that has the CEC pin physically not connected internally – normally called something like Lindy HDMI CEC Less Adaptor, example : https://www.opentip.com/product.php?products_id=7181501

I’d put it on the HDMI port on the back of the 4100, plug the HDMI going to the projector into that; see what they get.

Worth a shot! Let me know if you try it and if it works.

Thanks Clem, I'll check this one out.  When I looked at these types of adapters a few months ago they had HDCP problems.  maybe this one will work, I'll let you know after I try it.

I use a firewire adapter coming out of my phone going to a projector.  Always worked fine but now I am getting

CONTENT RESTRICTIONS

Capturing a video stream is not permitted.  To resume streaming, disable video capture.

I think they block the signal from streaming out so you cant record the content on an external device.   I tunes does this even if you buy a movie, it can't be played on a projector.  I think they are doing the same thing.

If its not 2.2 hdcp which most equipment isnt yet then youre screwed. Most items receivers etc are 2.0 compatible
