Hearing a crackling/static sound when I watch ABC 507, also impacts the non HD channel 7. Issue doesn't happen for any other channel as far as I am aware. None of the other network channel have the issue.
Tried resetting set top box and router and re-plugging HDMI cables.
Been a Verizon customer for many years. Sound is going through a sound bar.
Anyone have similar issues or a clue what's happening?

Sounds like either a bad feed from that channel, or possibly a bad box. Do you have any other boxes in the house? Do they all do the same thing on that channel? Have you tried without the sound bar? Try going here:
Main Menu > Settings > Audio & Video > Audio>Audio Format and change it to stereo. See if that helps. Also go here again:Main Menu > Settings > Audio & Video > Audio> Audio Passthrough and disable it and see if that helps. I know that essentially removes the surround options, but see if that helps. If it does, you may have an issue with the way the soundbar is decoding the surround format, or the station is sending corrupt surround info.

Verizon was no help. After running multiple tests, rebooting, etc they told me to contact ABC!

Same here, been hearing it for the last 4 or 5 days. I was hoping it would go away, but it's still there, very annoying. And it's not the box it only happens on ABC. I hear it on the other 2 boxes , while watching on the app on my tablet or on my phone. It's definitely coming from ABC.

Ok, as I was trying to find out, if it is happening to all boxes it isn't a hardware problem in the house. Sounds like a bad audio feed from ABC, which unfortunately has to be fixed by them. I'm not sure if Verizon can pressure them to do anything but I can try contacting support and see if they can help at all.

Seems like something is a bit off with the picture quality too. If you compare to the other network channels ABC/NBC seems a bit fuzzier. Don't remember it being like this before.

I am having same issue with the crackling/static sound only on the ABC channel. Hopefully we can get an answer from Verizon and a potential solution that they are trying to get it fixed.

i want to add some details about this issue:
in my case, it is the REAR RIGHT channel that has the buzzing/static-ky noise. seemingly, no other channel has this noise.
also, older DVR recordings, say from a couple of weeks ago, didn't have this issue, so this is a NEW issue that has only started recently.
looking forward to someone who is able to have this corrected! so strange there isn't a proper channel of communication that would monitor this type of obvious issue and be able to take action. it seems like we have to beg and beg and hope someone might listen! weird way to manage this!
