I am a recent subscriber to FIOS, and experienced problems with using HDMI for connectivity to my TV. The issue only was happening when using On Demand. The TV picture would flash on/off during program viewing.
The Support Tech indicated that there was a known issue with the newer Cisco box, and that an upgrade was coming.
In the meantime, cables were provided. However, the picture quality is not as good. I also have cables everywhere.
What is the status of the upgrade, so the HDMI connectivity will work with On Demand?
Thanks

You haven't mentioned what kind of cables you are using for the non-HDMI connection. There are 4 ways to do this, and only component video with high quality cables will provide the same quality as HDMI. HDMI just packages component Video, audio, and control into one cable. The signals used for HDMI picture and Component Video picture are in fact identical.
In order of quality (worst to best):
RF output from the STB
Componsite Video from STB
S-VHS from the STB
Component/HDMI
