I had a notice on my account that I needed to upgrade my current set-top box. I connected Verizon via chat and of course my current plan (unlimited fios) was no longer available and was signed up for the more tv option. Well the More turns out to be less, they sent these steam boxes that are missing so many features that the old set-top box had. all simple things but things that make user experience better. The new set top steam TV boxes no longer allow you to flip channels by your favorites, it will let you set favorites on the guide but you cannot flip channels by favorites, how idiotic is that? It no longer shows the time on the info bar when flipping channels again what a stupid thing to remove. The managing of the DVR is cumbersome when trying to manage a series ( you have to set everything back up with the new boxes). You can no linger use the old skip feature when replaying things on the DVR ( using the chapters to get where you want to in the recording). The local channels look like the old standard definition TV. Many channels pixelate and buffer, only for a few seconds but never had this before. I have Gigabit internet so that should be more then enough. This upgrade has been the worst experience with Verizon I have ever had and really has me thinking about switching. When I received the equipment the letter in the box and the email received said I could activate at any time, well NOT TRUE and it took hours of chat and 5 different reps to find out I had to wait until the activation date. This has been awful and still not happy. If you have to switch to a new set top box DO NOT get the steam TV it's AWFUL!
