Suggest Channels to Add to FiOS TV

Hello All,

I've seen quite a few threads and posts floating around suggesting various channels/programs you would like to see on FiOS TV.  In an effort to consolidate the information, I have decided to create this single thread about the subject.  Feel free to reply to it with your suggestion(s) on what you would like to see on FiOS TV.

Please note:  I make no promises as to whether or not you will see these channels/programs on FiOS TV.  Though I do know that the right people here at Verizon are looking at this thread for your feedback and advice on the matter.

Please add Fox Soccer Channel in HD.  It appears that Comcast and DirectTV both offer this as an option.  Not sure why Verizon doesn't.

I was told that the "right people" see this post, but I'm not sure I believe that.  I see many repeated requests for BBC America, Fox Soccer Channel, History International and other channels to be added in HD and yet Verizon does nothing to honor the requests of their customers.  Meanwhile, Direct TV, Comcast and Dish Network already offer these channels and many more in HD.  I left Direct TV to get FIOS.  If Verizon does not wake up and realize that they need to serve their customers quickly I will be going back to Direct TV by the end of spring.  I still have the dish mounted to my roof so it will be and easy transition.  I hope the "right people" see this.

Again and still!  PLEASE add FSC HD!  For the millions of soccer fans in the US this is almost the ONLY channel that matters! Does any moedrator review this listing?

On a separate note, can FiOS please add the local alternative digital channels to the locals packages? Like our local PBS affiliate has four or sometimes FIVE channels Over-the Air (26.1, 26.2, 26.3, etc.). Most of the other local major network stations also have two or three such digital channels.  ALL of these should part of any "Local Channels" package we are paying for.

BBC America

MASN2 HD (every other cable system in the DC area provides this channel so you can watch all the Orioles/Nationals games in HD. FIOS is a major sponsor or MASN's baseball coverage, but doesn't carry all the games in HD. Pretty embarrassing Verizon!)

UC (University of California) puts out a channel called UCTV.  There are some very good educational series and one-time lectures put on by various UC professors across all educational areas.  I personally would like this very much.

Followup to previous post, I also understand that residents outside of California might find this to be non-interesting, so if there is any way to pipe that video feed into one of the various local interest channels for the state of California, that would be fantastic too.

alright I just switched to fios b/c it became available in my area. the service is great I'm loving everything except I don't have my cartoon network in hd. Bright house had it and it's basically the main channel I watch. I love fios internet so much better and the tv seems leaps and bounds beyond but Please please add cartoon network hd

FIOS is coming to our building next month. BBC America HD and FSC HD would be a major incentive to switch from Cablevision.

After watching Barca-Inter on MSG 2 today, I'll add my voice to the request for FSC-HD. Not sure what is taking so long, but it is time for whoever reads these posts to get up, go over to an executive and tell them it is time to earn their big paycheck and make it happen already! No more excuses, just make FSC-HD appear already.

With the other cable service I had, UNC TV. was available. What a great channel this is. The British shows, especially East Enders is great along with Masterpiece Theater. and the many concerts that were offered. What a loss it is not to be able to have this channel available. I am not sure I would have switched to FIOS if I had known this channel was not in the line up.

Gol TV HD

By way of a customer service suggestion, you might want to let people on the phone know that these forums exist.  I asked someone, months ago when on a call, about channel requests.  They had no idea who to talk to!

Then again, this thread was started in July 2009, and 9 months later, I'm voting for the one of the same additions as was made in the first post.  This thread may have been started by somone in Online Support, but there is no indicatation that anyone is listening.
