Suggest Channels to Add to Fios TV

Hello All,

I've seen quite a few threads and posts floating around suggesting various channels/programs you would like to see on FiOS TV.  In an effort to consolidate the information, I have decided to create this single thread about the subject.  Feel free to reply to it with your suggestion(s) on what you would like to see on FiOS TV.

Please note:  I make no promises as to whether or not you will see these channels/programs on FiOS TV.  Though I do know that the right people here at Verizon are looking at this thread for your feedback and advice on the matter.

As other first time posters have stated, there was no reason to request channels on this forum until a channel with compelling enough content was available but not carried by this provider.

Well (and I'm not saying this applies to you or any other specific indiviual) , I've since confirmed that at least two other sites that I know of have indeed posted direct links to this forum, telling people to post here requesting it.  One is AVS and the other is Big Soccer.  There are probably others as well.  That pretty much explains the plethora of requests to me.  Again, not trying to knock the game or the fans.

Please add Television Dominicana from Dominican Republic. Dish Network and Directv already have this channel.

I know for a fact that you would get thousands of new subsribers by adding this channel who only stick around with Dish and Directv because of it.

Oh and one more thing when are you adding Telemundo HD, Univision HD and Telefutura HD? They have been HD for a while now.

Champions League on standard definitions doesn't do the game justice.

I don't want to hear excuses about negotiation issues or anything along those lines.  Comcast was able to come to terms with Fox and I expect verizon to do the same.

Soccer is a big sport and the only reason fans haven't complained on verizon boards prior to this is that we knew there was not HD offering available.  Now that FSC has started an HD feed we need to be able to see matches in HD glory.

There are several Telugu TV channels (Indian) out there that are offered by Dish and DirectTV; however, it requires satellite installation and if you have an obstruction on the south side of your house, you just can't get the international dish needed.

If you offer the following channel, I think there would be a lot of interest.

ETV Telugu

Gemini TV Telugu

Teja TV

TV 9

ETV offers a huge channel lineup for several regional languages and a lot of people would be interested if you could offer the whole ETV channel lineup - most of the Indian community living in the US.

This would certainly encourage me to join.... are you considering adding these channels to your lineup anytime in the future?

I just had Fios installed yesterday. I really want to see FSC-HD added to the line-up. I sent a tweet to the Vz. rep @ twitter last week. Hopefully, the next report will be more positive!

I would like to get Hallmark Movie channel, you can get the movie channel if you have the lowest package, and if you have the highest package, but not the middle package.  Does this make any sense?  You can't purchase it.  I always thought that each package built on each other.  Was this a mistake?  No one in Verizon can answer me, the reps have no idea why this is.  Have never heard of such a thing and didn't know about it until I called.  No one seems to know what can be done to correct it or who did this, who can I call or what else can I do as a consumer?

Directv has it, and it is one of the only true Peruvian channels offered. Directv has a deal with Verizon to sell its services. It seems like to me that Verizon could work a deal to provide that channel to its FIOS market. As of now that is not possible due to an exclusive deal with Directv. I was told by the channel provider that it was DTVs choice, and they would provide it to what ever providers DTV allowed them. Perhaps it would eliminate the exclusive right for DTV and force then to allow other cable operators to provide it. Politics! I would even upgrade my package and agree to another two years if this were to happen, and I am sure my wife would be behind me 100%. The Brazillian channel was just added, why not Peru?

There is a large Peruvian population that has DTV just for this reason.

I'm under the impression that this might only be marginally more effective than yelling this out a random skyscraper window, but here goes - 

Please add Fox Soccer HD and Fox Soccer Plus to the Verizon FiOS lineup.

The primary reason I went with FiOS TV was the availability of Setanta. As they will cease broadcasting in the US at the end of February, I'll be forced to look elsewhere for soccer coverage.

I just did some research. Time Warner, Comcast and others are adding this channel to the Spanish lineup. It looks as if DTV has lost it's exclusive rights. Why not FIOS? It is a SD channel and I am sure there is QAM space somewhere for one more SD. It would go in line with the other Soccer channel requests. Not excusively soccer but does air some games in the Spanish language.

The reason FiOS has to hurry with FSC HD, if at all they plan to carry it, is because the soccer season is at the 60-70% mark when things are really getting exciting. The season ends in May. So if you get the channel in the summer it will be too late.

Then again, you have the standard definition FSC, so it's not as if people are not getting the games. But please do hurry up as there is lots of good soccer going on these days. That's why you are getting so many people on here asking for FSC HD.   

The world cup games would be in HD on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC. So you already have that covered.

Do those here who are sayiung that they will leave FiOS if they don't carry FSC...where you gonna go?  DIRECTTV, Cablevisioin, and most Comcast systems don';t carry it either.  Right now, I believe only DISH carries it (but You must buy a special package to get it, and even then, it's not available everywhere, dependent on satellite direction)..  Hard to believe that anyone would trade in the superior HD picture quality of FiOS for weaker PQ on ALL  other HD channels, just for one part-time HD soccer channel. Just switched over to Fios from Cablevision. The only only channel I miss is EuroNews. Any possibility of a channel add in the near future?

Fox Soccer Channel HD is a 720p high definition simulcast of Fox Soccer Channel that launched in January of 2010. Verizon FiOS in added the channel in HD on January 30. On February 10, 2010, FSC HD became available on Dish Network. [2].
