I believe in free speech and diverse views, however tonight I have seen more than several pseudo news stories that are nothing more than conspiracy theories broadcast under an official looking banner. One America News has broadcasted a literal call to arms, telling people to go buy guns because "socialists and leftists " were coming for your rights. Then less than 30 minutes later they broadcast cultist conspiracies and encouraged outright violence. I realize this is a reaction to the announcement of the new president elect, however it is completely irresponsible and dangerous in these political times to broadcast these messages so freely and without fact or basis. Outlets like One America News, Patriot radio and others need to be pushed back to the fringes. They do the work of foreign detractors. It is not free speech just incendiary speech.
A patriot is not a man with a gun, but instead people who defend, celebrate and promote the best of our citizens to the rest of the world. All of our citizens!
It is completely irresponsible to continue to have internet style hate speech broadcast a medium as powerful as television. Division, hate and violence are not patriotic values and should not be broadcast freely. That is not free speech.
Please move to take down this network.

CNN and MSNBC are no less propaganda channels than the ones you accuse, yet as a libertarian with conservative leanings you don’t see me petitioning to ban them from view. With everything going on these days, I don't understand why FIOS carries fake media channels like NewsMax and One America. These are propaganda channels, pure and simple, fomenting and distributing outright lies as facts.
According to the FCC, cable providers can carry whatever channels they like. "With a few exceptions, cable television service providers can offer whatever channels they choose."
So are FIOS (and Verizon) as well as other providers, complicit in the tragedy we've seen at the Capitol in recent days? Tell us, Verizon, what motivation you have other than money, to carry this stuff.
Given their role is spreading dangerous conspiracy theories and extreme right-wing lies, NewsMax and OANN need to be removed now. They contribute to fomenting the fear and discontent that led to the Capitol insurrection this past week. They are not "news media"; they are purveyors of wing extremist propaganda. They should not be part of any standard package and I don't want a single cent of my cable subscription going to support them.

We need to Keep NewsMax and OANN - it's one of the few conservative news reporting outlets still alive in this country. The "mainstream" media channels present the news through their liberal left wing political lens. Those of us who have conservative views are labeled as "extremists" by the mainstream media which blots out and represses our voices and alternate view points. It is for this reason that NewsMax and OANN need to remain and not be removed.

I’m sorry but CNN & MSNBC did not call for insurrection. They did not spend months propagating lies that lead to 5 people dying. Whataboutism is the lamest of lame excuses. Verizon needs to remove these channels before more people get hurt.

The best way to make channels like this disappear is not to watch them.
Unless they are paying Verizon to carry them, at some point they will disappear due to low viewership. Or contact their advertisers and say you won't buy their products if they continue to support them.

We FUND all of these channels with our subscription fees. However, the issue is that OANN and Newsmax are promoting the lies that led to the insurrection.

A commentator on OANN straight up called for the execution of alleged “traitors” who voted illegal in their made up election fraud conspiracy fan-fiction. It’s all meaningless nonsense, and they know it, yet they allowed a direct threat to be aired on their channel. That’s not journalism and it definitely crosses the line over what is reasonable free speech.

Except that doesn't work, we still pay for OANN as part of our cable bundle and they receive money from Verizon in the form of a carriage fee per cable subscriber. We object to this and don't wish our money to go to OANN period and just changing the channel is NOT an option.
In short we should have the option to remove this channel and other channels from our cable package which is something everyone has been asking for decades. The only other option is to remove them outright from the network like DirecTV did or risk losing more people to streaming/piracy.

Since these 2 programs are misleading propaganda and people could actually believe what is being said to be true, it will influence some to become hateful and divisive. I feel that watchers of these shows have split families and neighbors relationships. There are not 2 sides to right and wrong news vs. opinionated broadcasts and plain old lies.
I would like to have a choice to remove OAN and NEWSMAX. There is no comparison to MSNBC and CNN. These channels spread lies, actual lies. Those lies led to an insurrection at the Capitol. Heal the country by getting rid of this propaganda material.
Also, this is a private company, so free speech does not apply.
Free speech is an inalienable constitutional right. Apple, Google and Verizon are not welcome to amend this ever!
