Due to my TV being mounted on a wall, I use an Iogear HDMI Switch to switch between my HDMI source. My setup is as following:
Laptop and QIP6200-2 box running to HDMI Switch then switch outputting to TV. I haven't had an issue with this setup until about 3 days ago.
It appears that Verizon issued an update to the Motorla QIP-6200-2 box. Now, when I turn on my TV, it only turns on to 4:3 480p even though I have a 16:9 720p TV. I have to manaully change the setting each time I turn on the TV and box.
Any idea on how to save my settings?

whenever that issue has come up in the past it was found that someone was also using a home theatre system. do you have a home theatre set up in that room?

The STB is negotiating the HDMI handshake with the switch, not the TV, and reverting to 480p because of that. Make sure you TV is turned on before the switch, and then the STB. We've seen this problem before with home theater systems. The STB will negotiate with the first HDMI source it sees, and if that' not a 720p or 1080i source, it sets to the lower resolutions of the switches, receivers, etc.
