VMS4100 LEFT LED ALWAYS YELLOW

So I've had the VMS4100, with one client box, for almost 3 weeks now. To the best of my knowledge the left LED has always been yellow. When i chatted with tech support earlier this week they said it was most likely a signal level issue and for me to check internal house cabling. Well I've done that and even moved the box and connected directly to the feed coming from the ONT, router(G3100) has separate feed, with no change. Once box is done initializing LED goes yellow. If I log into the router it does show the VMS and IPC as connected devices. Anyone have this issue before? Is the box just bad? Also note it appears any menu changes made go away once box is powered done. Especially the changes made to quide filters .

According to the chart, that box is not able to connect to the router for some reason. Are all your splitters MoCa 2.0 certified? Could it be a bad splitter? It could be a bad box too, worth looking into if a splitter change doesn't work. You could also try re-initializing the box.
Unplug the box from power. Unpair the FiOS one remote from the box by pressing the play/pause button and the zero button until the LED on the remote blinks blue. Let it keep blinking until it blinks red. Then plug back in the box and keep pressing the menu button on the remote while pointing it at the cable box. Eventually the right hand LED on the box will light up green. Once it does press the zero key on the remote, then press the okay button. After a few seconds the box will reboot and factory reset itself.

The splitters are the same that were in use for the old stb boxes. Also as stated above i connected pretty much directly to the ONT and light still stayed yellow eliminating any inside splitters. I'll try re-initializing the box later tonight/tomorrow morning and see what that does.

The connection has to be with the router, not the ONT. Also the old splitters may not be MoCa 2.0 certified or working properly.

One of my mini STBs has the status LED glowing what I think is yellow.
The STB operates perfectly. Stats show no errors, it can access YouTube via the app and the Message Center updates properly.
Resets and factory defaults have no effect.
The status LED on the main/VMS glows a proper white color.
I may factory default both mini STBs and swap them to see if the situation follows the box or stays with the position.
On the other hand, with everything working properly, it might not be worth the effort. ๐ค

You got me confused now. There is no way that I know of to connect the vms via coax to the router. One coax cable is coming from the ONT going to the small plastic box with an openable lid on the wall outside about a foot away from the ONT. In that box is Verizon's splitter that sends 1 coax to the router and 1 coax to my splitter inside that feeds the TV's. Been that way since original install in 2011 or 2012. ONT was changed earlier this year, so I assume they would've checked the splitter in the small box at that time to make sure it was the right one. Also isn't MoCa only giving me the guide, DVR (i don't subscribe to DVR service) and on demand? While I haven't watched anything on demand with the new boxes I can access on demand, and I definitely get the guide. Just can't the box to keep the filters selected on the guide.
So when I said earlier that I pretty much connected directly to the ONT what I did was disconnect the cable on the splitter in the little box outside feeding my inside splitter and connected the VMS coax right there. So, 1 cable was still feeding the router and 1 feeding the VMS. Light was still solid yellow after boot up.

Legacy STBs have a coaxial cable connector on the back. So, the VMS that Verizon provided doesn't have the connector on the back? ๐ค

dexman, your initial reply didn't pop in when I was answering what I thought to be clem21. Yes the VMS does have coax jack. the coax from the ONT via spillter connects to that. Even the old stb connected that way. Hooked up just like the picture for FIOS TV ONE setup via coax on verizon's site.
If I ran a cable from the back of the VMS directly to the router the router wouldn't have a coax going to it.
The reason I'm concerned with the yellow led is the vms box doesn't seem to save all changes made in the menu or when setting filters on the guide. I don't know if they are related or not but I'm tired of going back into the menu and BUI user settings every day when I turn the stb on and its not working the same as last time. I.E in user settings , additional HDMI settings, audio out keeps going back to LPCM when I want passthrough. I can change it, hit okay and sound briefly goes away and comes back but once box is turned off it goes back to LPCM when turned back on. Added filters on the guide menu go away also when box is turned off.

Something has me thinking that the VMS is defective based on the fact that optioning is defaulting when the STB is simply powered off. My thinking is to contact Verizon Repair to have a replacement VMS shipped.
Clem might have some additional ideas, so I'd hold on to see what he says. ๐
While it probably doesn't apply to the issue at hand, I agree with Clem's suggestion to check the existing splitters to make sure that they are rated at least MoCA 2.0.
Here at the house, my dad had a mishmash of various splitters and cabling that would cause issues with performance.
Quite a while back, I ended-up ripping it all out and rebuilt the infrastructure from scratch with splitters that had the exact number of taps needed, a 1000' box of Belden quad-shielded RG6 coaxial cabling and Arris Digicon DS6Q compression connectors (Verizon was using Commscope/Arris coaxial cable & connectors when I signed up for Fios service back in 2008).
Television performance has been flawless since then. ๐

I did the factory reset this morning. No change. Chatted with tech support and they could she nothing wrong but since the box wouldn't always once menu changes when turned off the set me up for replacement.
picked that up and does the same think. So I order new MoCa splitters direct from verizon. They'll take a few days to get here and I'll up date again when there installed.

Fingers crossed!
You are still using a Fios Router right?

Yes using Fios router. G3100.
So replaced the 2 splitters this morning with new Verizon MoCa ver 2.5 ones.
No change in LED status. Still as yellow as can be. Everything appears to be working other than the Led. I have the guide, I can watch On Demand and if I go to My Dashboard (d button on old remote), My Connections it shows the Router and the 2 STB's connected via MoCa.
On Demand and Guide are usually the 1st things that dont work right when you have issues connecting to the router.
I could live with the yellow LED but it shouldn't be that way. How will I know if I really do lose the connection? Not like I use on demand or the guide regularly.

Ill run this by one of my tech contacts and see what he has to add. Hang on.
