Verizon Remote Always changes input source on my Samsung TV

My problem is the same as this one, except the solution doesn't work. Re-programming the remote changes the input source also, whether I use the play/pause button (as described here) or the Channel + button (as described here ).

Even if I keep switching input source back to live TV, when the TV turns off, the problem persists.

Remote is a VZ P265v3 RC, and TV is a Samsung LN40A550P3FXZA.

The TV always switches to HDMI2.

The TV is most likely switching to whatever source is live . You need to look at the TVs menus and see how to stop that switching behavior. The only thing that could relate to the input switching the Fios box controls is here:

Main Menu > Settings > Audio & Video > Video Settings > TV Input Control. Try toggling it on or off and rebooting the box and see if the behavior stops.
