Watching Land of the Dead tonight on AMC and a quick white banner jumps on and off the bottom of the screen. But I caught a few words of the text. Anyone else catch it say, "Verizon being dropped by AMC" or something similar....???
I don't think we were meant to see it but I did. It lasted only 2-3 secs and was yanked fast! Are we going to be held hostage now too? I dropped Optimum because of nonsense like this. Nothing worse than the providers and networks forcing the viewers to do their dirty work for them while screwing us out of what we pay for.

Hi All-
I'm THRILLED to announce that Verizon and AMC have reached a deal to continue carrying the network's programs! There will be no interruption to your channel offerings, so you don't have to worry about missing a minute of your favorite show.
Thanks for sticking with us!

WHAT is wrong with you people, you never ask the customer WHAT their needs are, you just do it. A good business would take their customers ( viewers ) into consideration before ending something, this is one of the reasons why I left cablevision in the first place. Leave AMC alone, I love walking dead, breaking bad etc...if this channel goes, SO WILL I

This is nuts! I just signed up with Verizon and have had nothing but issues with fees and set top boxes. Now they want to drop one of my favorite channels! Maybe I should reconsider companies and go with Direct TV instead.

AMC has a right to be greedy. They are putting out some darn good shows that people like.
I have been a FIOS customer for a long time but if they let AMC go, I will be dropping Verizon TV and Internet.

Same.
I've been a loyal Verizon customer for 4 years now, ever since I bought my house and it had FiOS in the area. Before that I was a Comcast customer for 28 years.
If Verizon doesn't work out a deal with AMC ... and I don't care who is the greedy one here ... then I will drop Verizon in a heart beat and go back to Comcast.
That isn't a threat, it's just the way it is.

And just REMEMBER you said that when you bill goes up to pay for AMC. Don't think for a second that any rate increase AMC gets won't be passed on to us!!!!!!!

Do not know what is going on, but AMC is one of the best channels. Get rid of the channels that are no good. There are quite a few of them, that will pay for AMC. Do some serious house cleaning. Clean out the bad to keep the good.

I know for sure if Verion drops AMC, they will get dropped! I will just take my business back to Comcast! This shouldnt be tolerated. To just drop channels that people are use to watching. How rediculous!!!

The value for money of FIOS has been steadily declining as its price steadily escalates and "features" degrade its usability. This is the final straw.
I will absolutely cancel my FIOS TV if AMC is dropped for even a month.

I have been a Verizon customer for years. I have over 1800 channels and the only one that I really watch is AMC. The programs are top-rated! My kids watch a few other stations and my husband mainly focuses on the history channel. I pay a huge cable bill and there are hundreds of mundane, boring stations that I could care less about. If I can't watch my favorite program, The Walking Dead, I am done with Verizon.

YOU READ IT RIGHT!!!
THIS IS NOT THE ONLY CHANNEL THAT MAY BE REMOVED.
I WANT TO KNOW IF THESE TWO CHANNELS, AND PROBABLY MORE IS GOING TO COST 'LESS' THAT WHAT I AM PAYING NOW. I AM NOT PLEASED WITH VERIZON AT ALL, AND MAYBE IT IS OUT OF THEIR CONTROL, 'BUT' REMOVING CHANNELS, LOOKS LIKE TO ME THEY OWE US MONEY. AND WATCH THEM ADD CHANNELS THAT ARE USELESS LIKE ANOTHER REALITY SHOW. VERY FRUSTRATING.
I BELIEVE THAT LIFETIME IS LEAVING ALSO.

I am a Verizon FiOS subscriber in Upstate NY who pays nearly $200 per month for the triple play package.
Verizon has announced they will drop the HD MAVTV channel & three SD channels I do not watch at the end of 2012.
Now I see AMC HD, which is one of the few channels I enjoy watching, may be dropped too.
I suppose if push comes to shove, I can always take my $200 per month and go back to Time Warner Cable.

Enough of this childish crap of constant messages during the tv shows.
At this point I dont care if AMC is dropped. AMC needs to stop acting childish and just accept or not accept the contract.
I'd rather discontinue watching their shows until it gets on netflix than deal with their winning crap during the show.

The programming on WETV is some of the best you have on TV, and you are dropping it, then you will loose quite a few customers. We pay entirely to much for this type of foolishness.

BTW for all those of "keep AMC or I leave your service" realize that it's because AMC is asking for a huge increase (yes cable companies pay channels to be on their service) so if AMC is kept, expect and do not whine when your bill goes up to pay for it.

Let AMC go, as DISH did.
Look, it's great when AMC plays some older classic movies. But, WE, IFC, Sundance, breaking bad, the undead thing, mad men, are all HORRIBLE.
And it's completely unethically how AMC lied to viewers about them getting dropped in order to generate public outrage hoping to negotiate more money for themselves.
As subscribers we pay for all these contracts with our monthly payments. AMC pulling this crap means we either pay more or have less choice.
Drop the AMC channels and give us some other channel that actually plays movies most of the time.
Or use the funds to negotiate something with Netflix. Anything is better than AMC

Just because you believe some of their programming to be horrible doesn't mean it should be taken down. Some people love AMCs programming and obviously your taste are very different than others. If there is a station that needs to be dropped it's TLC. What educational programming does the so called "Learning Channel" provide? Honey Boo Boo is actually detremental to your health, it should come with a surgeon generals warning.

well but who are you to decide that TLC should be dropped, this is all subjective anyway. I just wanted to chime in as a Fios customer.
