Verizon dropping WUSA9 on Dec 31

Why would Verizon drop WUSA, a channel that is watched by most subscribers, because of cost but carry and pay for dozens of useless channels that almost nobody watches.  Drop the low watched channels and use the funds to pay for the good channels most subscribers watch like WUSA.  I will be cancelling my Verizon service, after being with them for over 15 years, regardless of the penalty, if Verizon drops WUSA.  Comcast I might be coming back with a lot of other people I know who are upset about the dropping of WUSA9.  Customer loyalty means nothing to Verizon only profits matter.

I know it's only a small amount but I am seeking credit for the channels I agreed to receive in my cable contract lineupwith Verizon.  If everyone attemtps to do this, perhaps the big boys will think twice before pulling the pulg on another channel.  These pennies will add up.

Verizon (like most other cable providers) have terms in their contracts that they can add and delete content at any time.

Removal of content does not entitle you to a refund.

I am glad WUSA is back on our TV, but as of this morning, the channel guide was still showing WUSA as being unavailable.  Please restore the Channel Guide for WUSA ASAP if it has not already been done.  Nothing can be DVR'd on that channel without the program guide.

JUST FORCE YOUR GUIDE TO UPDATE.  Several ways.  Easiest is probably pull the plug, what a minute, and plug it in again.  Should update the guide.  There is also a option in some menus that should work (menu, customer support, top support tools, fix Fios TV Issues)

What is with the loss of CBS and ABC family Channels?   While I can still see the CBS channel, there is no content on the channel guide so my DVR will not record any shows.   I absolutly hate when the programming changes.   I selected this company based on what it provided and the it arbitraily changes the content.   So frustrated!

Seems like the Guide doesn't update very often.  Possibly every couple of days.  I powered off/on my media server and the guide updated.  Did not see any other options to force the guide to update.

WUSA CBS was removed from the guide.  All data is gone so nothing recorded last night and nothing is set to record today....

How long does it take for that guide data to appear again?

Will a reboot help?

Thanks.

How long will it take to be back in the guide so stuff will start recording again?  Kind of stupid, stuff keeps recording (at least for me) up until a deal is reached, then the channel is removed from the guide.

I'm tired of Verizon's **bleep** match at our cost of losing WUSA9. Get a clue Verizon. A good program manager would drop all the crap stations with no viewership and secure primary networks. Like others, it's time to explore other provider options because this company doesn't value customer loyalty.

I completely agree with you. Verizon dropped my local WGRZ on Dec.31. Meanwhile I'm forced to pay for a crap ton of bad channels. The channels I don't watch FAR out number the few I want. How many news and home shopping channels are we paying for?  Verizon , stop saying your doing this for us. Thats Bull!

I received an email stating that all of the tegna channels have retuned.

Guide is not updated yet so anything you have set to record won't record until it is.

So, I get an email from Verizon informing me that they are having a contract dispute with the CBS providor for the local area, and as of the New Year, I have NO CBS Network Programming.

I feel this to be an unacceptable issue.

I am paying Verizon for the programming, and nothing is being done to replace it.

They should be able to provide directly from the network, as the other CBS family networks hasn't been interupted.

If the local station owner wants to cut off his own nose, oh well, as long as other local stations are available, but to take the whole of the network programming go, I am Most defineately NOT happy with.

And because of the dispute, we can't even use CBS online, only by paying for CBS all access. I really hope the people whom paid to put their commercials on the local CBS affiliate are as happy as we are.

I called Verizon on Wednesday letting them know I wasn't happy with the loss of local WUSA on Monday, December 30, 2018 at 5PM. Basically they would care less.

Verizon person kept saying "You have 400 other channels to watch". I kept replying, "And none of them are CBS".

Verizon refused to offer a refund or discount for the loss of WUSA as, according to them, "We can make channel changes anytime we want".

In my opinion Verizon breached the contract by not providing what was agreed when I agreed to the contract.

Verizon has lost me as a customer. When my current is up I will go elsewhere.

I am so disappointed that Verizon can't make this deal happen. But I am even more outraged that they seem to have no concern for their customers. I've called and chatted on the website and no one knows anything. I was offered a $5.99 refund to cover the cost of the CBS app, but I don't want to have to watch shows on my iPad. I pay to have CBS available. Why is Verizon still silent about this? It's been three days! I've been with them for 10 years, but will leave when my contract is up - next January unfortunately.

Are there any alternatives to replace WUSA/CBS channel 9?  When my family first signed up with Verizon Fios years ago, the channel lineup also included the Baltimore local channels. How about Verizon bringing back CBS channel 13 wjz-tv in Baltimore? They are owned by CBS (not Tegna).  Just a thought.
