I updated to the new G3100 router and new TV setup top box and remote. Verizon has stated that my old G1100 router and TV topbox will not work starting in April 2025.
Sadly , I wish I would have waited to the old system not to work as the new system provided by Verizon in my mind is not better.
1. TV remote proviced did not work. Had to be replaced by Verizon, and instructions provided do not tell you how to pair the new remote as pressing the button on the net top box for 15 seconds and then following insturctions on the screen.
2. TV buffering occurs although my WIFI service is 1 GB. This did not happen with previous G1100 route and old TV box.
3. I had to get a new Wifi extender to replace a Verizon Mini extender that did not work with new system.
4. Pixelation occurs periodically on the new TV setup. This did not happen before.
So good luck in your new setup, but I would wait till old system is no longer supported.

If I were you, I'd get one of these to connect the box wired instead of wireless:

Much better connection and should be no buffering.
