My QIP 7100 2 died. Roughly a year ago I purchased a new G3100 and a had that particular box replaced. I have had the same DVR for many years and also have an older set top box running.
When I called to have the QIP 7100 2 replaced I was told Verizon is no longer providing replacements for that model and that I will instead need to upgrade all my set tops to the new ones and I will need to get a newer router (mind you, I paid them $400 for this one that they're already declaring obsolete). My TV plan will be changed as a result also (I have a legacy plan) and in the end my pricing will go up significantly - as much as 20% a month.
I am so furious. All I want is a replacement for the older box. How do I get them to do this?
I am close to canceling service as I feel they're trying to steal from me.

The QIP 7100 2 is, indeed, no longer being supplied by Verizon. The 4100 is the latest model that ships.
I'm a bit surprised that Verizon is looking for the 3100 to be replaced despite having been supplanted by the cr1000a & cr1000b.
