We want our Me-TV (back)

Today (2/28/17) host station WJLA (Washington, DC) suddenly and unceremoniously dumped Me-TV, one of our most favorite channels on Fios.  Is there any way Verizon can grab the Me-TV feed from WWBT in nearby Richmond, VA?

They took it away from me and I don't have a sports oriented package.

I am hoping that Verizon will take note and add WTTG 5.3 . I love MeTV watching Perry Mason each weeknight.  I feel out of sorts and can't believe such a popular network is gone.  Really too bad.

First, I just want to compliment KatrinaDad on a terrific title for this post.  ๐ŸŽถ  Get your Matlock for nothing and your Cheers for free Smiley LOL

Second, I am just adding my voice to the chorus of calls to bring back MeTV to the FIOS lineup.   Though a forum post may not be the mechanism that gets something done in this case it at least provides a way for us to gather and know that there are many of us who feel the same way about this channel and can provide updates on any changes, like the pickup by WTTG OTA.  Hopefully Verizon will be able to re-add it soon.

Just re-signed my Fios contract only to learn that Me tv was dropped!

Very disappointed.

Fios tv/internet scheduled for installation this week. Specifically asked about MeTV availability. Two different customer service people ( one last week and one today) said that it is on FIOS. Tonight I checked MeTV website and FIOS is not listed as provider. Then checked FIOS channel list for Ultimate service and couldn't find it there either. Tomorrow I do believe I will be cancelling FIOS tv installation.

I was also told MHz channels were available, but I couldn't find them on the channel list.

Verizon is NOT a ME-TV provider, I don't know any of the Cable providers that are.  However in many areas its carried by your Local TV station as a sub channel.  This thread is about the fact that iME-TV recently moved from one Local TV station to another in one are and last anyone posted it wasn't yet available on Verizon FIOS.

None of the cable companies carry ME-tv.  They all carry a local station,  perhaps WTTG that carries it as a subchannel.

When Verizon will get it depends on negotiaions and then setting up the necessary hardware to link.  Comcast took until 4/21 to add it back.  Unfortunately Verizon almost never comments about such things or dates.  Exceptions are usually when such negotiations break down and Verizon thinks puplic opinion will help them finish a deal.

REMEMBER THESE FORUMS are mant to be peer to pper.  They may be in the last steps of getting the feed or not, no one here knows.  And posts here almost never have any effect.  I think there is a good change they will eventually add it.

Yes, my parents (south of Baltimore) had both DC and Baltimore stations and now they still have the Baltimore one.  My question is why they got both and we had only the one that is now gone.  Can we request to receive the Baltimore station?

No.

Cable providers can only provide local channels based on the contract they sign.

I live just south of Balt in AA County. All the cable companies here offer both.

Same with Howard company.

Don't get all both though.

I don't get WDCA nor WB50 from DC.

Just the Balt version.

What channel is 5.3 never heard of it.  I have Verizon Fios and went through all my channels and don't have it.

5.3 would be the local ATSC version.  You might be able to tune to it with your antenna or even the fios connection(if your TV has the necessary tuner).  Normally the fios boxes remap such channels to the upper 400's.  Obviously if Verizon hasn't picked it up yet, you are limited to trying an antenna.  Remember such things as antennas?

These are sub channels.

What's available in some areas may not be available in others.

All depends on what the local channels in your area carry.

On April 21st Comcast returned MeTV back to their customers.  It is time for Fios to now do the same.  Somehow we the customers need to impress upon you (Verizon) that we like this station and want it back asap.  Personally I will never ever watch Charge just on general principles but will switch to Comcast in the future if we do not get it back.  Asking nicely here!

Unfortunately, based upon statements made here. Verizon doesn't read these forums, and has no method of communication with customers regarding customer desires for programming.

Take that for what it's worth.

I will be another one who will switch.  Fed up with the high bills.  New customers are treated better and given more than customers who have been with Verizon for 10+ years.  I got nothing when I signed up.  DirectTV gives 4 free rooms and DVR players, etc.

Me-TV has one of the biggest Facebook followings online, stupid of Verizon to let it dissapear. Probably will switch to Cox cable when my contract expires in a few...
