Today (2/28/17) host station WJLA (Washington, DC) suddenly and unceremoniously dumped Me-TV, one of our most favorite channels on Fios. Is there any way Verizon can grab the Me-TV feed from WWBT in nearby Richmond, VA?

I had to fire up my old OTA antenna in the attic so I could watch a few of my favorite programs on WTTG's 5.3 METV channel. Of course I can't DVR anything though. We're in Fredericksburg, but the antenna uses an external amplifier which helps bring it in.
While losing WJLA's feed was out of Verizon's control, I'm disappointed that they're apparently dragging their feet while other cable providers wasted little time in adding METV back to their lineup. It won't surprise me if it never returns. It's funny that when we lose channels, our bill never seems to go down.

This is a peer to peer support forum.
Verizon doesn't comment on channel adds.
That being said, I can't imagine why they wouldn't be.

Had anyone found any way to issue a request for this channel to Verizon?

Me Tv abruptly was dropped from the Fios line up on March 28th and has yet to be restored. What is being done on the part of Verizon to restore this excellent Network to our line up?

There is already a thread on this subject.
Verizon did not drop the channel.
The main channel that was carrying MeTv dropped it.
Verizon has not yet come to agreement with the new station carrying the channel.
It is unknown which side is the hold up.

I love it, i'm gone for all this time (hiatus due to mis-understandings here) then, i return to this. (abbreviated laugh) Let me say this, this is reminding me (unfortunately) of when Verizon decided to remove the FUNimation channel #262 from the network. No matter how many petitioners we had, and, trust me, there were a lot of us back in the day, it made not one [1] iota of difference. People called, wrote in, started independent petitions and protests - - all to no avail. As a matter of fact, they even took away FUNimation's "On Demand" presence. I hate to be a "downer", but, just wanted to provide you guys with this "heads up" not to expound too many resources on this. Verizon does not care, they just don't - - take it from someone who has gone down this miserable path already.
Let me add, i'm not even from the generation who would necessarily appreciate shows like The Big Valley etc. but, even i, have a respect for shows like Bonanza and The Virginian. As a matter of fact, i wish the Virginian could be adapted into like a Batman The Animated Series to influence a new generation that loves animated shows. The Virginian instilled a lot of decent values, many of which, this generation could stand to use. Anyhow, you might still be able to access Westerns on INSP.
Take care,
H.B.

According to Verizon, Esquire Network, channel 160, will leave the FIOS lineup around 6/28/17. Verizon, just use channel 160 in the DC region to put METV back on, please? Why does this have to be brain surgery?

Its probably not a matter of space.
Verizon and WTTG (the main channel that carries Me TV in DC) have to come to a financial agreement. Then it can be connected and programmed.
We have no idea what the hold up is. Could be that Verizon hasn't started their neogtiations, WTTG may not be ready for negotations or they two can't come to a financial agreement.
For channel content, there are tyically two charges. A fixed charge (for connecting) then a per subscriber charge. Other cable companies have come to agreements. Its possible they have more customers so they can get a better deal than Verizon can.
I understand that Verizon is the cable provider. But has anyone reached out to WTTG for their side of the story?

Heck.. NO METV - and I am leaving Comcast for this.. Verizon has to have 24 hours a day 7 days a week METV. I guess I will cancel my installation now until Verizon does have it.

Nope, no message from Verizon - you would think they would tell us what they're adding since they're constantly telling us what they're removing. I actually got a message back from MeTV that I sent in months ago letting me know they were on 489. Very happy to have this back.

Thank you, Oh Great and Powerful Wizard of FiOS, for showing mercy and returning this small earthly pleasure to us . We will never know how or why, but who are we, insignificant paying customers, to question or seek answers of any kind.

cadaeibf explains,
"who are we, insignificant paying customers, to question or seek answers of any kind..."
I just want to take some time to say, first, that response was epic.
Now, if we could just get FUNimation back...
I will admit, i am surprised about this development, makes me wonder what kind of blackmail someone had on someone else to make this happen. (laughs) Overall, i wouldn't get too cozi, for when the numbers show otherwise, the channel will be gone just as quick as it was added... You may ask, "Why?" I will take a quote from my previous post,
(Muscle Man voice from Regular Show ) "Verizon does not care, they just don't..."

H.B.

I am sure nothing of the kind. Verizon did want to add the me-tv back, but they never explain whether it was strictly a technical issue, price negotiatons or what that caused it to take longer than some people wanted. The did have to get a new feed to replace the old from the channel that no carries me-tv in that area.

The abovementioned explains,
"I am sure nothing of the kind..."
More or less, my post was not to be taken too seriously, however, given past precedent, it seems as though Verizon will take the path less consulted. Removals of the following clearly demonstrate that: RFD-TV, The Weather Channel, Tennis Channel, not to mention the most egregious- FUNimation Channel. It's ridiculous. We pay a higher premium with Verizon to have access to networks that say a typical cable provider will not offer. Yet, every time i turn around, another network is being removed without consulting the community at large.
The case with FUNimation is especially a sticking point insofar as there are hundreds of channels that could have been removed easily, yet, FUN was singled out. The ONE channel i had any use for. No matter, i have a premium subscription to their Website directly, but, annoying, in that monies have to be allocated for both. If it was exclusively up to me, Verizon would have been thrown out like yesterday's garbage, and, i would be setting up DirecTV.
I'm always amused when i log in here and i see that post explaining something to the effect of,
"Forgive us Verizon for test-driving another provider..."
(demure sounding) Please.
Sincerely,
H.B.
