Why All The False Promises

I JUST moved and also wanted to "add" cable TV to my internet for our new home. We are already paying 100% over what we were originally paying a month but we due to wanting cable, we accepted. Verizon has made everything sound so good, including giving us (2) gift cards for Target. 1 for $100 and 1 for $50. Of course we gladly accepted since moving can be very pricey. Now they are telling me that I had to redeem the same day of installation and the next gift card will be redeemable in May. Now I have to fight to get what was offered to me 7 days ago. They keep sending me links to "redeem" my gift card which the system keep telling me to reset my password. When I finally get into my account, you can not find the "Home Offers" unless you search with the search bar. The reps keep saying "its on the home page". REALLY????? Then my "issue" was escalated to the higher ups ONLY to tell me "since we have to do this manually, it will take 30-45 days to receive my $100 gift card. But I don't understand this. If I wanted to may a payment to "PAY YOU" the payment goes in smoothly, but when you're promising to give a gift, it's not there and now I have to wait close to 45 days to get. The card was really coming in handy since I just moved but it's a joke at this point. AND then I keep getting asked if I want to switch my phone service over to Verizon. Why would I do that?? The first rep said that I can get my phone transferred and a new phone will be given and a discount on my cable service. Trying to find all sorts of ways to save these days.  After thinking about it, I contacted Verizon and the new rep said I was misinformed. There won't be a new phone. It's all according to your credit. Well they should ask their competiton ATT&T how my promissory to pay monthly is satisfied without any issues. Wow Verizon, you really provided such a warm welcome, but now I think I over stayed my welcome and it's only been 7 DAYS!
